I've been using Meguair's Endurance tire dressing. I liked it at first, because it bonds to the tire and lasts for a pretty long time. But I wonder if there is something better.

I don't like greasy dressings that splash off onto the body fenders, and I'm looking for something that's easy to apply and will last past a couple of car washes. Any suggestions?

 

I also used to use endurance. But after a while my tires were turning brown after two weeks. I had to clean then reapply endurance. I found some alot better. Einszett Tiefenpflegeralso called "1Z". It isnt real shiny but it stays black for weeks!!!!

 

You might also try NXT protectant; gives a good shine and seems to last a long time. The other product I like is Hi-temp grape tire dressing.

 

yea i use the Meguires that smells like grapes...... lasts pretty long and looks great

I use Meguiars Endurance. Takes a bit of time to rub on but it looks great and lasts the longest out of all i've tried. And the cherry smell is addictive:D

For spray on's Stoners is good.

 

[B]why dont you try this new product called SHINING MONKEY....its a spray on tire dresser and it doesnt spit out those nasty greese and tar marks onto your car...or you can use what ever you're using now..spray the tire dresser around the tire and wipe off with a cloth..

 

Stoner's More Shine Less Time for Tires

 

Have you tried Zaino's Perfect Tire Gloss? The thing that's great about it is that you can actually control the amount of shine with how many coats you apply!

 

Zanio Perfect Tire Gloss is the best stuff I have ever used for tires. I slap on a coat and let it set overnight. The next morning, I'll wipe off any excess.

It leaves a perfect finish...not the "soaking gleaming wet" look the eventually splatters all over the body of your car, but a low gloss that looks great.

No splash or splatter, and it lasts well over 4-6 car washes.

The other thing that I finally did was Zaino my wheels with Z-2, Z-6....it looks great.
I'll be adding 4 more applications of Z-2, Z-6 and then maintain with Z-6. People say it helps with brake dust, so we'll see

 

I always use Zaino on my wheels. Not so much to prevent brake dust (believe me, you will still get brake dust on the wheels, Zaino can only do so much) but to protect the wheels and make them easier to wash.

It really helps imo.

 

I use Armor All's Detailers Advantage Tire Foam. I usually put 2 coats on, and it is good for about 2 weeks. Get a lot of compliments from people on my chrome rims & slick looking tires.

 

Whats up everyone just wanted to give my 2 cents on tire shine there is this stuff made my a company called PRO they used to carry it in pep boys but i never seen it there yet but you could get it at your local VW dealer just ask them for a can of tire shine its a spray on nice and clear no drips, no need to wipe, just spray and go also it does not sling up all over the side of the car like most others do.

 

Meguiar's also has a new one to go with their NXT wax. NXT tire shine. Can't remember the exact name but if its anything like their wax it should be pretty good.

 

There's a NXT tire shine?! I must look into this! I've been using the clear-liquid silicone-based products (i.e., Black Magic, etc.), but it's been raining here on and off, and the tire dressing seems to wash off in a matter of days. I've seen but not purchased those tire products that are supposed to last weeks, not days (I'm assuming NXT's is like this?), and I'm going to go in on that pretty soon whenever I use up these other products. Anyone have any experience with that stuff?

 

I saw it at Walmart the other day. NXT something. Insane shine or something like that. No reviews from me but its available and i love the wax.

I use the Meguires endurance. I live on a dirt road....and it keeps the dirt OFF the tire isntead of making it stick to it. Plus it smells so good, my girlfriend wanted to apply it so I could take a break LOL!

 

The NXT extreme tire shine is good stuff. Very easy application on low profile tires (aerosol spray can is accurate) and the shine is awesome. It seems to be waterproof also. Best I've found yet.

 

Haven't seen the NXT dressing out yet locally, but I've been using "High Gloss Hot Shine Tire Spray by Meguiar's" lately and it's been pretty good. Lasts through the rain, and tires still look nice and black after two weeks. Ideally I like the really wet look, but I haven't found anything that maintains the wet look more than a day.

Ditto. What *I* like most about the Zaino is that it isn't super-glossy, which I don't (personally) care for. It leaves a nice "satin" finish. Also lasts quite a long time. I applied it about a month ago, and after 2 washings, the tires are still nice and black. If someone wants a super-glossy finish, the Zaino is probably not the best choice. Although you can get it close to super-glossy if you apply several coats, there's stuff out there that would be far easier to use for that type finish.

Hey, does anyone have problems with this stuff collecting dirt on the tires? It works great but is causing more dirt to cling to my tires.

 

Yeah, that's one of their pitfalls. The silicone doesn't "dry" on the tire per se, it just adheses to it in its wet form, so dust and dirt that make contact with it just stick to it. Next time you're in the car detailing aisle, check out the new line of tire dressing products that are supposed to last weeks at at time (i.e., Meguiar's Endurance). I have not yet used them but believe they may not have the same problem.
