Question Streaking: Zaino, or something else?

After taking my Nordic Green 8 out for a spin last weekend, I used Z6 (following the directions to the letter) to preserve that inimitable Zaino shine. As I was working on the hood, I noticed some subtle streaking that the Z6 did not take off. In fact, applying Z6 seemed to make the streaking worse.

Key facts:

1. So far, I have applied three coats of Zaino to the car -- 1 coat of Z5 and 2 coats of Z2. The car was streak-free the last time I washed it.

2. I park outside and use a Weathershield cover. I have washed the cover in my washing machine, always taking care to put it through three or four rinse cycles to remove the detergent.

3. The streaking appears to be only on the hood. The hood gets very hot after I drive the car -- much hotter, certainly, than any other painted surface.

Does anyone have any thoughts as to what is causing the streaking? Do I have a bad batch of Z6? Are the streaks coming from detergent residue left in the cover after I wash it? Should I wait for the hood to cool down before applying Z6?

I have posed these questions to the Zaino customer service folks (a.k.a. Sal Zaino), but in the meantime, I'd be interested to know if anyone else has been having this problem.

Thanks!

I think the heat from the engine is probably causing the streaking. You should only apply the stuff when the surface is cool.

Also, are you washing it first before the Z6? I assume you are, but your post doesn't explicitly state that. Personally, I don't use Z6 unless it's right after washing the car, or after a fresh layer of Z2.

The Z6 is way concentrated.
Your best bet is to pour it into a bigger spray bottle and dilute it 50% with deionized or distilled water.
