Okay, am I totally nuts? (I don't think so) I drove back to Indianapolis from souther Michigan yesterday, about 3 hours, rain all the way, rain all day afterwards.... I couldn't bear the thought of all that road schmutz on my nice new shiny black finish, and the rain just wasn't beading up like I thought it should.

So I thought to myself, what better way to "spot free rinse" than natural rain. I broke out the power washer, used my Meguiars Gold car wash in the dispenser, and washed away. It still was not beading enough after all that rain, so I tested a couple spots, one with Meguiars Quick Detailer, and one with the Quick Wax. They both brought back the beading, but I wanted the more protective shine of the wax, so that's what I used.

I just misted the wax on, and rubbed it around gently with a cotton cloth, wringing it out when it got sopping wet... frequently, of course, since it WAS raining the whole time. The wax went on smoothly and evenly, and the surplus just ran off with the rain. By the time I got to work this morning, my car was nearly dry and spot free... beautiful and shiny, and no white residue, or overspray marks.

After I had done the entire car, I gave it one more going over with a clean terry cloth towel, and it was beautiful.

AND, btw, I did the windows with Castrol GTX window treatment in the rain as well, with excellent results.

So, yah, I'm a nut, but I love this car.
