i apologize for not searching but i'm gonna be honest with you guys, i dont want to spend 20 minutes searching for something i might not even be able to find.
so anyways here it is. I plan on waxing my car 2morrow afternoon since i have nothing to do and i've never waxed before. What products do you guys recommend that i can get at a local auto place. It'd be real helpful if you listed everything i need so i know what to get at one stop. any help would be apprecriated!!! thanks guys! (sry again for not searching, i realized that there are millions of products out there i just dont want to mess up my car by buying something stupid)

 

Get some Meguires NXT generation Tech Wax, and some Meguires Hot Shine tire spray.

If this is your first wax, I recommend preping the surface before applying anything so you won't be sealing any hidden dirt in.

This link explains cleaning with clay. Clay is used to remove residues and just about anything else from the paint without scratching.

If you like the NXT, when you get a chance, try zaino, its da bomb.

 

This is what I recommend you buy:

- Meguiars Quik Clay Kit (Clay + Lube)
- Meguiars NXT Tech Wax
- Microfiber Towel of some sort (for removing wax)

Once you clay and wash the car, then you can apply the wax with the foam applicator or a mf applicator if you wish. It's easiest to remove the wax with a mf towel and it won't scratch the paint.

When your waxing, try to stay out of the direct sunlight if possible. Be sure to read the labels on ALL of the products for further application instructions

Don't forget to wash the car down with dishsoap first, prior to claying. This removes any previous wax buildup and let's you start with a clean slate.

 

Question: so I used a microfibre towel to remove my hazed wax. Now it is full of wax. Is there some way to clean the towel? I tried warm soapy water, but that didn't work. Tell me it's not meant to be thrown away after one of two uses?

 

perfectly said! I wax my car once or twice a week. Why? Cause I get bored and gives me an excuse to go outside and smoke. haha. I have aquired a total of 73 coats since the day I purchased. I use tech wax and love it. Its cheap and comes off easy (like a cheap date). Remember to purchase microfiber towels. They work so much better than your typical terry towel. I microfiber towel can do the whole car. Opposed to using 2-3 terry towels.

 

throw it in the washing machine WITHOUT fabric softener. Thats should do the trick
