Once my 8 finally arrives I want to get it off on the right foot and plan to do some waxing. Zaino seems to be the big choice around here, but the whole process makes me a bit nervous. One of my main concerns is keeping the black trim clean and making sure I handle the areas around the Mazda & RX8 chrome pieces right. In the past I have always had trouble with those 2 areas. What is the best way to handle these areas?

Use Zaino, I Zaino right over the logos and the text, As for the black you can use Meguiers gold Trim detailer.

RejeX is THE way to go! Goes on very easy (finish needs to be very clean and dry, at first) and comes off even easier (long as you let it dry completely). Goes on all surfaces beautifully and protects very well. Can't say enough about this product. Why spend 8 hours on Zaino? I don't have any interest in this company (CorrosionX), just saw a few posts here and thought I'd give it a try. Hey, if it's good enough for airplanes, then... I'm just glad I used it first and don't have to worry about "contamination" from some other products. It really is better than advertised.

I just checked out the RejeX site - Some of my concerns with it are:

1. Apply to a cool surface (less than 85 degrees)
(note: you can apply Zaino in direct sunlight if you want)

2. Allow RejeX to 'cure' for 12 hours before being exposed to
the elements

(no such issue with Zaino)

3. Allow 8 hours cure time between coats!
With Zaino (using ZFX) you can put multiple coats on as soon
as you wipe the previous coat off.

Please note: I am in no way affiliated with Zaino, but have been using it for over 4 years. I put three coats on my '8' in
just under 4 hours. ( I put 3 coats in my Girlfriend's Miata at the same time)

Just to back that up - we had a friends Montero Limited over the weekend, and decided to clean it up for him (it's a year old and had been washed once).

Start time - 8:15 am

We washed it with Dawn (and VERY hot water), used the claybar with the soap (second time around), rinsed and dried carefully. Sprayed Z6 and applied first coat of Z2 (with the accelerator), removed first coat, reapplied Z6 and applied second coat of Z2. While allowing extra time for "curing" (my excuse for the following), I suggested we put another coat on the RX-8. After some grumbling, we applied Z6 followed by another coat of Z2 (this makes 6 now). Removed the Z2 from the Montero, then removed the coat from the RX-8.

Both of us took showers and went to eat BBQ for lunch. We were at the restaurant by 12:00.

Considering the results (especially), it could not have been done any quicker using any other method, and this one ALWAYS looks better.

AND, I am not affiliated with Zaino in any way, just a loyal fan for the last three years.

I've been using Zaino for many years....since it was a little "boutique" type product. They've come a long way.

In my garage, I had Collinite, Meguiars, Pinnacle, Eagle 1, Mothers, Zymol (not the cheap stuff you get at Walmart), Liquid Glass and Klasse.

Hands down, for shine, durability, ease of use, customer support, the best is Zaino. I'm not affiliated with Zaino either. Just a customer that loves the product.

There's always some latest/greatest wax to come along. I looked at the C&D blurb. They were comparing the Rejex applied to half a car when the other half didn't have any portection. I would hope that any wax product would do better than no wax at all.

Why go with an uproven "johnny come lately" product when so many of us have used Zaino and can attest to its superiority?

Here's what 4 coats of Zaino on silver looks like - look close and you can see in the reflection the holes in the pegboard that my saw and other tools hang from, you can also make out the tire/wheel of the bike that hangs from the ceiling .

Here is the trunklid (again 4 coats of Zaino) you can clearly see the beach chair and garage door rail.

which Zaino product is best to use? There seems to be so many different formulas.

Z2 for Clearcoat (modern cars) and use ZFX ro speed up the 'drying/curing' time. Z6 before, between and final coat. Before you Zaino, wash the car with Dawn, claybar it, and wash again with Zaino wash. Check it out here:
