Maintaining Exhaust Tips

A little while back there was a thread asking how to keep the exhaust tips clean from build up and such. Everbody kept recommending one specific product that you could get at wal-mart. I was hoping that someone might know what I'm talking about and could help me out by telling me. Thanks.

It was called never dull (or nevr dull). I have not tried it yet but several people have and like it. Check out the thread below.

Best stuff for making stuff shiny again...copper, stainless steel, polished aluminum, the list goes on and on!

Remember a little goes a LONG way! Clean them then Nev-r-dull them!

Another vote for Nevr-Dull. I just used it on exhaust tips and then polished a silver-plated cigar case to a brilliant shine.

Someone said they Zaino'ed the tailpipes and the black buildup didn't come back afterwards

Does anyone know if Nevr-Dull is abrasive? I use Collinite #845 on the exterior and interior of the tips. This stuff withstands the heat AND protects like no other.

I can't cite any specific studies, but my own observation is that it has very little potential to be abrasive.

(If you've used it before, ignore the following)
It's in liquid-like form soaked into shreds of cotton-ball type material, and each wad is pretty lubed up and somewhat slippery when fresh. Don't know off the top of my head what that fabric is, but the wads just seem to glide over the surface because of the stuff in them.

I've tried Zaino Z-2 on the tailpipes, and it works great....initially. It just doesn't seem to last long in that application. The Z-2 does a wonderful job on the paint, but perhaps the heat on the exhaust tips causes it to fade away in about a month. I just ordered some Collinite from porschegeorg, so I'll report back in a couple months on how well it stands up to the heat.

Best,
Bill
