5 coats of Z5 and 5 coats of Z2 on mine right now, not to mention the Z6 whenever feasible (a least 12 or so coats). I applied two coats each of Z5/Z2 the first weekend, two more coats the next weekend, and 1 coat each last weekend.

I've owned the car a month to this day...well, 3 more hours and it'll be a month exactly.

OK, at what point does this become ****? Geez, I love my 8 too, but I want to drive it more than I wax it! Wax it as often as you "need" to so that is stays beautiful.

Hey niadvance,

I do 2 coats at a time, that is about 1/2 the 2 ounce bottle. Remember it must go on with very light coats. If you have to work at taking it off, then you put it on too thick.

If you wait until your car 'needs' waxed, it's too late! OK so maybe I am ****

I also have 10 coats of Zaino on my RX-8. I put the 10 coats on over a period of 2 months. Using Z2 (mixed with ZFX) I apply a coat on, then go do something else for a half hour or so, and then come back (when it's dried) to finish it. I don't consider it to be a BIG deal. Of course the inital application IS time consuming, but that is basically for the PREP work, which should be done before ANY wax or polish is applied.

To anyone that thinks Zaino requires alot of effort, I think you are not following the directions. Zaino is VERY easy to apply if done correctly.

Zaino WORKS by the layering process. The more layers the better the depth of shine (especially on light colors).

I know the new Megiuars looks promising, but it apparently cannot be layered and time will tell as to the durability.

i know it says to apply a thin layer. it just seemed kind of hard to tell how much to put on. is it okay to just keep putting a little bit on the applicator and applying it that way?

According to the directions put a dime-sized amount on the pad.
You should spay the pad with the Z6 detail spray before putting the Z2 (or Z5) on it. It is a bit hard to tell how much is going on, it just requires a liitle organization to start at one point and move on from there.

I usually get two coats from 1 ounce (half the ZXF bottle). That's why I cannot understand when people say Zaino is so expensive. Let's see, 8 oz costs $12.95, so one ounce (two coats) costs approx $1.60. Is THAT expensive? No it isn't. Of course the ZFX is. but it will last for years as you only use 3 drops per ounce or so. THe Z6 is just a bit more than most detail sprays, but again (like Z2) a little goes a long way.
