dealer left clear protectors on?

My dealer left the clear plastic protectors on the bulge just in front of the rear rear wells, is this common and if so, did you guys leave them on for extra protction from chips etc?

I've never seen a dealer take them off. They are meant to be there.

If you have, the damn things cost $40 USD for the pair. I had to have one replaced due to a regrettable proximiti ishue with another a-hole's car ;-).

They are virtualy invisible and if you check them carefully after driving in a very dirty road (dirt or recently paved) you WILL see how necesarry they are.
