not sure what your planning- but definitly dont install this stuff yourself- I had 3M installed on 2 different 8's by pros that do a much better job than other pro installations I saw- and guess what- it still isn;t perfect- the 8 is one of the hardest cars to install in because of the curves. Let a pro do it.

Absolutely, I bought the 3m material from a friend that does it for a living and gave it back to him after just watching him do an 8. To get it on properly he has to use a heat gun and it requires such a light touch that someone that is not a professional with a boatload of expereince could easily make a case for a new paint job.

After seeing it done I opted for just managing the chips with touch up paint very carefully applied and a paint fund for the nose when it gets too bad.

Buy Venture Shield film, it's better overall than 3M. It's even less visible, and easier to work with. I've been installing kits for a while now, and I have yet to try anything better.

thanks for the warning guys, but this is just for fun.. I already have my 8 professionally done with the 3m stuff.

If I have a good hand in it, I may just do custom installs part time. I saw how it's done, and it didn't look difficult at all. Anyway that's my own impression, I'll learn how hard it is when I try it myself..

now back to my original quest-- where can I get this stuff in its raw form? 3M or anything similar.

mdw33333, it would help if you provided a purchase source with your suggestion. I couldn't find it anywhere on google.
