"Clear Armor"

Has anyone here had any experiences with a product called "Clear Armor" (http://www.cleararmorinc.com/)

I picked it up as an extra (I agreed to take it for a reduction in my finance rate, and actually ended up with a lower monthly payment by $5!), but its installation is what's kept me from getting my car (hopefully I'll have it two hours from now, but I probably could've had it yesterday morning if I hadn't opted for this).

The idea seems sound, and it sounds a lot like the "clear bra" stuff I saw here (I did search ) but I couldn't find any specific mention of it.

It's supposedly a 6mm urethane film, that goes on all the "front facing" pieces. Supposedly, it's not only the nose, and headlamps but also the bulge-y bit in front of the rear wheels, and things like the mirrors.

The theory seems sound, and it looks like people have had good experiences with the "clear bra" in general, and since Clear Armor requires 'professional installation', I'm inclined to think this isn't such a bad thing...

Just wondering if anyone else has heard of this, or had it installed...

Not this particular brand, but lots of people have had clear bra type material installed. So you're the beta tester here... let us know how it comes out! :D

I took possession today, and I'm ecstatic. The "Clear Armor" currently looks like those protective plastic sheets you find on things like cell phone displays and such when you buy them. The edge wasn't really noticeable when I picked it up around 6:30pm, but when I was going over the car at a friend's house, and the sun was going down, it became noticeable. I could tell it wasn't really permanently attached (I nudged a few air bubbles out around one edge), so perhaps when it "cures", it'll become less visible.

As far as protection goes... I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

No horror stories to report so far. Although I did want to note that I noticed they applied a thin strip of the urethane to the door edges, like a really subtle version of the door guards Mazda offers, and I noticed they put a piece down on top of the back bumper, next to the trunk opening, to help protect if you put something on the lip while you're loading or unloading the trunk. Very cool; I wouldn't have thought of that.

SOunds like you got a pretty complete Install. THats whats is best. The Front bumber, the hood, the fenders, the lights, backs of mirros, door edges, under door handles, and top of rear bumper. Another part I do that some dont think of is the parts of the hatch you grab (but aren't supposed to) when you close it. the back edge of the hatch. I do it to all wagons, suvs and hatchbacks when I install the PPF.. Enjoy it. You will see it under different light, an dif your cars color shows shadows. its about impossible to see on dark blue cars. but silver and light blues show the edge.
