Cleaning Renesis Motor Cover

What do you use to clean the Renesis motor cover. It is the same material that covers the ECU, Battery, and Intake covers...

Just curious to know. I was going to use the Cheer w/ Color Gaurd again, but i am running pretty low... jk :p

Thanks!

Mine doesn't really get dirty, just dusty. I wipe the dust off and use aerospace 303. Keeps it looking great.

Simple Green to clean it...then some 303 Aerospace to keep it rich and conditioned.

like other mine mostly gets covered in fine 'sugar sand' that blows into the engine bay, i dont like to wipe it off as it could get scratched, so i just pop it out and shake it off, then hose it down. after it air drys i use 'back to black' on it and then pop it back in, i do this about 1 time a month or whenever im gonna have the hood open like a car meet, ect.

same goes for the batery cover, ecu ect

i use meguiar's apc (all purpose cleaner) and a micro fiber towel to clean my engine bays. then i use 303 to condition all plastic parts. meg's apc should be easy to find and its gnetile but it cleans very well.

not that i can do this now, but my SVT manifold on my last car - '01 Merc Cougar - was black. after i used degreaser and water to clean it, i'd spray WD40 on it. it was awesome for shows. after awhile it would collect too much dust though. sorry i dont' have a picture to share.

Everyone else at the gas station when you check your oil every other fill up.... Not to mention it helps with resale value as well as we all know a clean car is faster :p

303 works wonders . It lasts a long time under the hood cause it's not exposed to that much sunlight. I recommend using apc / microfiber as well and then apply either 303 if you have or you could use a vinly/leather/rubber (VLR) cleaner on it.

Is it safe to use stuff like armorall on the engine cover?

Just asking since I presume anything that close to the engine can get very hot and ignite. Now THAT would be bad.

Never had any of the cleaning/shine products I use ignite. I don't use armor all, but they're all pretty similar chemically. It wold probably just evaporate quicker rather than reach a combusiton point.

I am sure its pretty safe to use. Whether your using armorall, 303, or another product, I would recommend removing the plastic cover and applying it outside of the car and then once you let it sit and dry for a few minutes place it back. I don't know how safe it would be to spray 303 or armorall all over the engine bay though.

Yeah, flawless brings up a good point. If you're going to put a shine on the hoses or anything else, spray a rag with the cleaner/shine agent and then wipe the hose. If it's a cover, take it out.
