clay bar

i was going to wax my 8 this weekend so i bought some clay bar.i only did the hood &the drivers side too see if it was worth the extra work . after claying and then appling a fresh coat if nxt to the entier car you could tell a big difference where i used the clay. the shine looked deeper so this weekend i will strip off all my new wax and clay the whole car .sorry i cant send pictures my wife has the camera she went to philly for the weekend .

The best part is how smooth the paint is after claying. I can't stop running my finger over the finish after I clay it.

for some reason NO ONE around my hometown sells claybar. I even went to an Autozone and asked if they had any to which I was asked "what's claybar?"....anyone know a good place to buy it online?

Here's what I used. Similar procedure to clay bar but comes as a liquid. You don't have to worry about dropping the clay and contaminating it, and the "lubricant" is built in.

Here's what their Quick Order page has to say:

"If you're shipping to an address in New Jersey, please email newjersey@zainobros.com for a distributor in your area."

HTH!

I'm guessing that they have distributors in their home state that they don't want to take business from. Hopefully you'll find someone near where you're located. Good luck!

I used Mother's Clay bar on my wife's Escape and used Griot's Garages clay bar on my 8. The Griot's garage claybar worked a little better, but was a lot stickier on my hands. It was definally worth the work. You can order it from www.griotsgarage.com under the car care section.

Hey Nubo that HD cleanse is good stuff I think it's the best = look no swirls. Wanted to know which Zymol wax you were using? I'm using the Japon.

Based on marque and color they recommended the Japon wax for my yellow RX-8. I guess "yellowing" isn't going to be a problem

Clay bar rocks! My other car is a 2000 Eclipse, people tell me all the time that the paint looks brand new.

I used the clay bar for the first time this weekend. Amazing! My 8 is only a week old, and the car had a better finish when I was done than when the dealer handed me the keys.

Yes indeed! When I started clay baring my car I thought, "well this is dumb, the car is new, what good is this going to do?" After using it on a small section the difference was obvious, the paint felt like glass, unbelievably smooth. It makes a great start for a high polish shine.
