anyone tried z-8 between polishing or Should i just stick to z-6 between coats and use z-8 as a final shine only? If so how much differance did it make?

no sense in using Z8 in between, it would just be an expensive way of polishing your car. Use the Z8 at the very end for that super shine

I've used Z8 between polishing, and it doesn't make a difference. It does look nice at the end, though, just make sure you buff it all off. and use hardly any. seriously, almost none..

Will apply another Z2/Z6 next weekend along with cleaning the tires. Wish I had some Z8 to try out. Amazing how the flakes reappeared on my Green.

Yay, I'm done!

Saturday - Dawn/clay bar/Z7/ZIO/Z6/Z5/Z6
Sunday - Z5/Z6/Z2/Z6
Had to drive for a couple of days...
Today - Z7 again/Z2/Z6/Z2/Z6/Z-CS/Z8

I saw a pic of a car with 4 coats of Z2 and it looked amazing, but I just didn't have the energy to do one more Z2 today...

Cool. That's kinda what I was thinking when I took the pic, but I posted these pics in the Calling all TiGray thread and someone gave me a bad time for the tarp

Thanks Jedi54 -
I got the kit called "the ultimate pack". It comes with 2 clay bars, 2 polish pads, 3 diff polish types, zxr for polish, leather treatment, and a tire polish.

Zaino lasted for 4 years on my car!!!! I used to live up north and had a garage, and about a dozen layers of zaino on my red beast. I moved down south to very mild conditions where a lot of homes do not have garages and I bought one. I moved here January 05, and put my first coat on a couple of days ago because 4yrs 3 months of not doing anything but wash the car it finally stopped beading and this was for a car always parked outdoors. Wow! My only compliant is the ZFX dried up. Now my decision is to buy more z2 with accelerator or the new (to me at least) apply-only stuff. Either way I'm thrilled that it lasted so long! Yesterday I put two coats (Z2 no ZFX) and she's all shiny and beading again.

My suggestion, and this is what I do on my car or a customer's car:

If you have no swirls, or just very minor ones, pony up for some Z-AIO. It has a very very mild polish in it with chemical cleaners, and it protects. The best thing about it though...it makes a GREAT base for Z-2 or Z-5. For your red I would really suggest Z-5. It'll give more of a darkening and deeper look than Z-2 (and it hides minor swirls), but its all personal preference there. If you wanted best of both worlds, do 2-3 layers of Z-5 and top it with Z-2, with Z-6 between each layer. Top it with Z-8 for the maximum bling...haha. You might try Z-CS too...its easy to use. I like it on every color but black.

While Z-FX isn't required, it makes it all go much faster. With Z-AIO, you won't need Z-FX if you are only doing a layer or two that day.

Happy Zaino'ing.

Uhh.. I tried it yesterday... Are they kidding with an third of an ounce of Z2 for the entire car? I used about and ounce and a quarter.

Otherwise it looks great. The abrasive polisher (Z-PC) was exactly what I needed. I will continue to layer the polishers it once I get back home.

Been a couple of months since I got the Zaino kit and I gotta say, "I love the stuff". It took a little practice memorizing the steps and since I have never calyed a car before. Once I was done the car was so smooth and had a liquid shine. The finish is amazing and the stuff smells awesome too.

I really like the Z8!

7club really doesn't have a Zaino section so here's some of my contributions...
With such a mirror shine you would think I could fix my hair... LOL

Hey I'm using NXT and have used the clay bars ... do you guys think if I look into a Zaino kit, I'll see a major difference with shine and reflections? I have a 04' Sunlight Silver Rx8 which i must say the last owner babied the car ( paint is almost immaculate with the occasional microchips on the front bumper..)

Will Z5 hide scratches to the paint as well as taking it to a detail shop where they use an orbital buffer etc?

I have an event coming up, I want the car to look supreme so I was actually thinking of taking it to a professional detail place where they can buff it etc (I don't have a buffer). But, if the Z5 will work as well as the paste a professional place uses with a buffer, then I was thinking of just sweating it out myself - the up front cost of either would be roughly the same (except buying a zaino kit, I'd have tons of leftovers to repeat the process I understand - but either way I'd probably get a Zaino kit in the future - I am really just looking to have the best results for this one day right now).

I do have some surface scratches and chips which I know can't be REALLy fixed unless I get them repaired - but overall, what will hide that stuff, repair it where possible, and produce the best results - a prof detail place, or a Zaino kit - or possibly a Zaino after a professional job (or is that just wasting money?)

Thanks for the tips - I have always taken the best care of my cars I know how, but I need to go to a new level - it's photoshoot time...

i think its all a waste of money.... LOL...
To be honest none of this stuff is really a miracle in a bottle.... if you have scratches, your gonna have scratches... its in the clear coat.
Zanio will give the appearance of a nice shine, but if you look hard enough in the right angles youll still notice scratches... The reality is the Camera cant see most of the imperfections, the way the Eye can.
So if its for a show... I would just get the Overall Detail.
I have picture's of my car with water marks, & Dirt... After driving 14hrs to NC. And it looks spotless.
The Camera's not going to pic it up.
