Best Zaino Applications

...pondering...
Alright, well, I finally did my first Zaino job, and I have to say, I am pleased with the results.
I did a dawn wash, followed by a little scratch remover stuff, followed by a clay bar, followed by a Zaino wash, then two Z5's and a Z2 with Gloss Enhancer inbetween each. Took me just shy of 5 hours.
Check out the pics (alas, the silver can't compete with black in terms of reflection, but it's still quite good).
She's almost ready for the big event!

The finish looks awesome!!! That's a lot of work Thawk97, I use Zaino, can relate. Love their products, makes future washing easier too. Have you checked out Z-8 Grand Finale Spray Seal, it's a great finisher and good for quick polishing....I want to clay my car sometime soon.

Thanks for the compliment. I did think about getting the Z8 but this was my first time which means I had to buy all the other stuff and I used Z6 as a finisher - it was already pretty expensive so, yeah, maybe in the future

^ depending on how particular you are about the condition of your paint, yes and no. If you will not mind the swirl marks, especially when exposed under (yellow) street lighting at night, you won't need it. Yes, if you want it to look close to flawless (since it masks minor scratches and swirls).

THanks for the tip on Z5 .. yeh my Rx8 is looking ALOT better after 4 coats ( 1 z5, 3 z2) ...I wouldn't think it would have much of an effect on a sunlight silver but it creates this sort of sheen look to it that still dazzles me .. ONE MORE QUESTION THOUGH.. do i need to wash the car before applying more coats? reason i ask is because I've been just using the custom spray ( 1/2 cap of car wash zaino with 16oz of water ) to clean the car and then apply the polish as well as follow with z6...

^Just make sure that the paint surface everywhere you plan to add another coat is free from most dirt or other contaminants like bugs. Z6 is recommended by Zaino themselves in between successive coats, but it may not make that much difference in the end result.. I don't think using the shampoo is a good idea as an in-between if you're doing it all in one go (unless some time passes and the car gets dirty).

Zaino Black
I finally got around to using the Zaino I ordered months ago after seeing this thread.
Here she is after one coat of Z-5, then one of Z-2. Superbowl was about to start so I had to leave it at 2 coats, but I can't imagine it looking any better than this regardless.
Hit my wife's 6 with one coat of Z-2 while I was waiting on the 8 to dry, and that 7 year old car looks new again.

deep reflections auto detailing in Los Altos CA...
Hi All,
This shop is great!!!
They put on two extra coats at no charge (said they had the time to do it and as my car was new it was "no problem")...
Very good price and my car truly looks fantastic.
If you are in the SF Bay area you might want to check them out

Its not hard. Buy yourself a good Dual Action/Random orbital polisher and all your swirl mark woes will be forgotten. Best thing about a DA polisher is they are completely safe to use by an amateur like me and can not burn through your paint. Best thing I ever bought.

I will spend about 3-4 days for a full system. I usually layer 2 coats of Z5 a day. Day 1 is wash, clay, wash, Paint correction, IPA wipedown and ZAIO. Days 2-3 are layering Z5 and day 4 is layering Z2 and a Z8 sealant.
Long process and difficult to work with in my humidity however the end results of a full system are spectacular.

nice results.
yup, hand application is the way to go with Zaino. In the15+ years I've been using their product, it's only ever been applied by hand
