Question Best nonabrasive soap for a simple cleaning on an RX8

All,

My question has probably been answered already but I was reading that regular dawn soap is terrible for a normal wash on an RX8.

Will somebody let me know what a simple cleaning solution should be and what should be used to clean my RX8 on a simple "wash."

Thanks guys!

Mateo

Use car wash soap. Z-7 is supposed to be really good, but I can't tell you from first hand experience. My order should be here this weekend.

If you're not worried about "show car" finish and just want an everyday clean car. Just go to store and buy normal car wash soap like Turtle Wax.

Zaino recommends Dawn for washing off any existing wax.

After being Zaino'd, I use their brand of car wash.

I use Zaino car wash and it is quite concentrated and I feel confident that the detergents they use are non-abrasive.

I've had the same bottle for 10 months - little bit goes a long way. And I wash my car at least once a week.

Tripwire-

Have you seen any special deals on Zaino products when you have purchased your cleaner and wax etc.. ?

the only deal i've seen for zaino is the 2 free applicator pads + 1 bonus applicator pad when you buy the Starter Kit.

most everyone says that zaino is worth the money you spend in terms of quality and amount of uses per product.

Great.. Based on the number of other posts I have seen about Zaino, it looks to be a great product. Is the website www.zaino.com??

Arrow More Zaino questions here

https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...threadid=24128 Can you folks help me out on this thread? I'd love to place my order today if possible.

I am also joining the Zaino club. I've read the entire Zaino website, this thread, and other threads after doing a search for "Zaino". My Questions:

** Is the Zaino website the only place to buy it, and best source?

** Is the start up package the best way to go as a first timer? Here is the link and the contents of the newbie package: http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2...gory_Code=Zaino
$84.70 + shipping Contains:
1 ZFX Accelerator
1 Z-2 Clear coat polish
1 Z-5 Swirl polish
1 Z-6 (I saw the recommendation to pick up a couple of these instead of just 1)
1 Z-7 car wash
1-18 claybar (someone said they got 2 bars with their order)
2 applicators

** Can we get some more input on the Leather sof cleaner & Tire gloss from you experts? I'm assuming I need the FNG kit + another bottle of the Z-6 + the Leather soft + the tire gloss. And some new white 100% cotton towels.

I kindly thank you

No, I wish they would give out some coupons or something. I really like their products and I'm always refering friends and family to get their stuff, it works really well. And it's well worth the money, looks like liquid metal.

This is my ritual for a pristine looking RX8:

Get some Dawn and wash it really well, get some claybar and meticulously go over you car to get it completely debris free.

Then put some Zaino Car Polish Lok down and wax that bad boy at least 3 times with the zaino polish + accelerator - OMG you won't believe how your car will shine.

I do that once every 6 - 9 months.

I wash it with the Zaino Car Wash every week or so, and get those 100% cotton cloths, they sell em' at Target that are non-abrasive.

As soon as you're done washing, get "The Absorber", they sell that at Target too, it's this space-age rubbery material that sucks up water. Anyhow, it won't leave a single water spot on your finish. You just drag it across the car and wring it out and repeat. I can wash her down and absorb all the water in about 15 minutes now.

Right... I would think that it would be smart to have special deals on Zaino... they would pull in more people... I think I'm sold on it though. Thanks for the "wash faq" ... I'll try your method for the prestine look.

You just answered the question. Sal prices his stuff fairly, and those of us who buy from him would probably pay more. The RX7 Club did a group buy once for maybe 10% off. I don't think growing the business is a big priority...

If you're looking for something relatively inexpensive but very good, go with MeGuiars (sp?) Gold Class wash. You can pick up a gallon at Target, Wally-World, etc. for about 6 bucks.

I've tried the high priced washes, including Zaino, and the Gold Class is as good, just cheaper.

And everyone else is right on Dawn... I use it to strip wax prior to claying a car.
