The Absorber

Does anyone use this? The guys at Auto Zone recommended it to me when I was there picking up some car wash so I grabbed it. I wasnt sure about how harsh it would be on the paint though. I felt it once I got home and it seems a little rough. Is there any chance it will damage the car when I use it?

After it's wet, it will feel a little different. I use it to dry my car as opposed to a California Water Blade. Then I go back over it witha micro fiber towel. I've used it on several different vehicles including my "8" and had no paint problems.

Hope that helps.

I have heard good things about the absorber...and they are probably true but they are damn expensive and the thing doesnt absorb water as great as it says...

I went to Costco picked up a pack of 12 micro fiber towels...they are amazing...I use them for drying and then for polishing after I apply a layer of NXT tech wax...

I had used the super soft cotton 'baby diapers' but they don't absorb water well and leave tiny particles when I am finishing with the NXT Tech Wax

I have one and I love it. It works great and soaks up a lot of water. By design it is meant to be stored wet which is a plus as it is always ready to go. It is really easy to wipe down the car and get 95% of the water in just a few minutes. The rest I clean up with a microfiber towel and detail spray.

I can't live without my absorber. I would freak out trying to get rid of water spots, but the absorber takes care of things. You won't regret owning one.

Oh man, I bought one of these last week and I meant to post how great it was. Apparently someone beat me to it. This is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I highly recommend it.

Only bath size 100% cotton towels for me. I can dry the whole car with only one towel and not have streaks or spots. I use a hand towel for the windows and then hit them with Z6.

You want to watch out when you use something without a nap (like the absorber). If a piece of grit or some other irregularity gets under the rag and there is no nap for the grit to go into, then you are rubbing that grit into your car and possibly messing up your finish. Nothing but 100% cotton bath towels for me too.

I have been using a leaf blower to dry my yellow 8. No water spots, no rubbing. Mine blows 205 mph. Lowes has them for about $60.00. I dont worry about swirl marks or fine scratches and its easier than hand drying. Then a little Z-6 and I'm good to go.

I tried the leaf blower and found it took too long. I thought it would be quicker than towel drying and it wasn't. Just bought the absorber today along with the nxt wax. I'll post results after I use them.

I use the leaf blower too...only after removing the majority of the water. You should see the weird looks I get from my neighbors! ;-)

I love them, been using them for about 6 years. They work best if you car stays waxed (I use Liquid Glass). I wax mine once a month, but I used it on our truck and the wax was about gone and it does not absorb as well.

But they are great!

I use the air compressor to blow out excess water from grates, wheels and any little cubbie holes. Then finish it up with absorber. Nothing worse then having a beautiful shinny clean car, drive down the road and all kinds of water spashing out from those "secret compartments" (sorry from another thread).

I've been using an absorber for 15 years (not the same one) and swear by them. I recently got the Big Blue Towel everyone raves about and must say, it works just okay. The BBT leaves some residual water, something the Absorber does not do. You can use both the Absorber AND the BBT for a very fast dry.

For the price, nothing beats the Absorber, and it come in it's own case!

I swear by the Absorber as well.

Simply can't be beat, especially for the price!
