ok i found this stuff in motorcycle consumer news. the writer said it was the best.

picked up some today at boaters world, got home and did the inside of the car.
amazing. makes armor all look like a joke.

my ???? is where to get it at a reasonable price. i think i did pretty good tonight. 53bucks for one gallon delivered.

let me know if i can do better. i have to buff the hot tube in am.

'303' is by far the best, I have used it on the convertible top of my '67 Catalina, and it is really 'sunscreen for plastics'!
(Expensive though, $96 a US gallon up here in Canuckville.)

I also am interested in finding it at a better price. I bought mine local from an RV dealership, somethink like $14 for a 12 oz. spray bottle.

I have bought from these guys before and had no problems (but I only bought once). Seemed like a good enough deal. ( I orignally found them on shopping.yahoo.com and searched 303 aerospace).

I used 303 on my MR2 Spyder, but I am about to trade it for on 8!! It has to be applied correctly to be effective. You are supposed to spray it on the rag only, and rub it into the vinyl/leather. Then with a clean soft (lint free) rag, buff it till it's not oily. Unlike armor all, it should not be shiny or slick. The product does leave a nice shine anyways, but it's nice to not have everything so slippery when I am done. BTW, this came from a higher up at 303 in an interview I read on an MR2 forum.

Also, dont get the stuff on clear plastics, it messed up the faceplate of my radio (turned the clear parts cloudy), so be careful.

Just to confirm is is OK to use 303 on:
- dash board?
- plastic and leather on doors that scuff easily?
- any black plastic trim near the door sills and side mirrors?
- windshield wipers (not the rubber that is in contact with windshield)
- black plastic trim below front and back bumbers

Funny you should mention about the wipers Maximus.... I have been using 303 for about 3 years now. It is not only safe for the things you mentioned, but you should use it on all of those things. It works really well on most surfaces that are like vinyl or leather. I use it on the rubber seals inside the doorways to keep them soft as well, like I said anything like that. The only thing I had a problem with was, I was wiping the face plate of my stereo to shine up the black parts (remember this is not an rx8, I have not gotten mine yet - it was another car) and a little got on the clear piece where you read the station information, and it permanently got cloudy where the 303 got on it. Other than that, it's really the best stuff on the market IMHO.

About the wiper blades, 303 used to carry a product that was a wipe saturated with 303 to keep the wiper blades from drying out and UV protecting them for longer lasting blades. 303 stopped making the product (at least that is what I was told). When I tried looking into it I was told by the store I got the 303 from (see link in previous post) he said that because the product was the same thing (it just came in a wet-nap type packaging) that people were just using the 303 out of the bottle on a rag and wiping the blades down. I started doing that right away. I dont really think it made the blades last any longer, but they did stay really nice and black colored. I live in south florida and I dont think anything will make the wipers last longer here, that sun kills em all.

I plan on using 303 in my RX8 as soon as I get it!!

Just a note: 303 Cleaner and 303 Protectant are seperate products. Unless you have a big mess to clean, I think most people would want the protectant.

Since I am in Arizona where the SUN can be brutal, I was looking for some 303 Protectant. I found it by accident the other day when I was at a Pool supply store getting some chems for the Pool. They had the 303 there! I purchased a bottle for $9.99 and I applied it to all the surfaces and it does a great job on the Matte surfaces and all areas mentioned above. I have my windows dark tinted to also help out. The Protectant has a nice finish.

Ok......

I'm the last person to succumb to internet hysteria, but this stuff is awesome.

Finally a product that actually does what all others try to do. It makes things look like new.

When I bought my RX8 there was nothing shiney in the interior sans the piano black stuff. The last thing I was going to do is spray any type of armor all or mothers protectant. Those products would ruin the intended look of the dash. Probably irreversably for a long time. It is meant to be flat. It was never shiney from day one.

I cringed everytime I saw a picture of a "detailed" RX8 with a layer of shiney goo all over the interior bits. I guess its personal preference to a point, but mazda never designed the car to look that way. Also it specifically states in the manaul, "do not use glazing agents" referring to interior plastic. Besides, any 1984 honda can have a greasy dashboard, but only newer cars have the matte finish which is becoming very popular.

I'll reserve the Armor All for keeping the "friz" out of my mullet.

303 does a perfect job maintaining the original RX8 interior finish. It simply darkens everything up, and a very very slight satin sheen on smooth plastic. on parts like the dash it self, it leaves a dark black matte finish. Nice.

Does the 303 'bake' off and leave a film on the inside of the windshield & windows? Every other protectant I've used has and that's what's kept me from using anything on the 8 so far.
