Why Yellow Tinting on Headlights?
We have all seen the race cars in LeMans as well as other series that have yellow tints on there headlights. My question is why do they do this?
I know yellow light projects better and further so that is why they use yellow bulbs, but why the tinting? It seems to me that the tinting would just create a blockage and hamper the visual benefit.
If anybody here knows, please let me know.
-Thanks

While I was watching the Daytona Grand AM race, they mentioned that the Daytona Prototype cars now run white lenses, while the GT cars run yellow, so that it is more easily discernable what type of car is trying to overtake you.
That is what one of the drivers was saying during an interview.
