Yeah I am kicking myself now for not realizing who you were even though I haven't met you. I saw you at the NWR Event #2 driving the red porsche. I was in the tail happy green 99 miata. I fixed that problem though and now I am kicking butt. You co drive with Ron Bauer right?

By the way, great job again Ron. And to Joe as well for that matter, his scratch time woulda been good to bump me out of 2nd, and that was his first time ever driving the car. Another fun event.

Thanks all! Steve and I are seriously considering having two sets of tires now for the Pros so that we can swap wheels/tires between drivers. Being the second driver has now become a disadvantage I think.....
It is true that I'd love to find a competitive BS ride for the Oscoda and Toledo events if anyone is interested. E-mail me if you might be!

slightly off topic: but im having trouble keeping the V710's cool enough on hot days with a co-driver. anything above 120 is trouble. does the heat cycle age of tire make it less accepting of heat, or it is the higher temps now that summer is here?

Congratulations to Ron for an awesome driving performance, pulling it off in the clutch is the sign of a great driver. Sorry bub, but the extra seat is already taken ... :p
No excuses here, my driving totally stunk
It was good to see PedalFaster again, it's comforting to know that a difference of opinion doesn't get in the way of friends. :o
Finally, I want to thank DKNV for her generosity in allowing me and my codriver to jump in and drive her car after the issue with ours. She also deserves congratulations for finishing 4th in L1. Not only was she the highest placing RX-8 in the class, but the drivers she finished both behind and ahead of are all very talented and much more experienced. 4th in L1 may not sound like much for those of you not familiar with ProSolo, but it's a very good achievement in this class. Seeing her do well made all my troubles go away, it was worth the trip just to see DKNV have the opportunity to show her stuff.

As Ron noted above, at Wendover we didn't feel the second driver had the grip the first one did, even after spraying the tires.

Hey Guys, I am also looking to co-drive in Toledo. Anna is interested also for L1. Sounds like I'm late to the party :-).
...I wonder, just how many Rx8 drivers are there on the East coast anyways...
I had a great time "breaking in" the Rx8 in Wendover. The check engine came on during our sat runs, but TeamRx8 was kind enough to hook up his puter and check the codes and clear it. I had the second rotor failed to detinate one, but it never happened again on Sunday, so hopefully it's a happy motor now :-).

thanks steve, i do have a sprayer, and i start spraying when the temp gets above 120 on whichever tires are affected. but i cant seem to spray enough on hot days when we are running runs almost back to back. guess i need ice water and take my last run before my co-driver.

I'm tempted to throw down for the event as well, though I'd be bringing my own car. Nine hours is just on the limit of "wow, thats ******* far for a weekend".
If I go, I'll probably have a codriver spot open, but my setup is far from 'trick'.

- 35 run S04s (I'm like 50th on the waiting list for 710s, which probably puts me at next March)
- RB FB.
- 25 lb hitch that isn't quite removable
- Stock everything else

Problem is, with a co-driver on my only set of v710s, I'll be out of tire sometime before or at the Toledo pro. If you can make something happen by getting me tires.... *wink* *wink* *nudge* *nudge*, then the seat is open for anyone that needs a Kumho ride. :D

understand that if you let a non-RX8 driver in the seat you're working against the rest of us ...

(It's Auto-x. It's not us vs them. It's all for fun... besides... the MR2 of Strano/Snyder will be at these events.... it's not hurting anyone to let someone run an 8 here in the east.)

no, it's a Pro Solo points series that people spend thousands of dollars to run
but it's your car, you can do what you want with it ....

However, after having run against the Snyder MR2 personally, and I *think* I can say this with some ounce of credibility, that the only way an 8 will win BS Pro here on the east, is if something mechanical happens to the MR2. They have at least a .5 second combined advantage on the launch. So you can have your hopes up that an 8 can take it all. Honestly, I don't see that happening this year. It's good to be an optimist. It gives you something to shoot for.
That being said, with it being 'thousands of dollars to run' if I can defray and share those costs with other people that are willing to help and play, the seats open.
