VIR Hyperfest RX-8 HPDE 1 Solo
Hey everyone i would just like to share some videos of my first time at VIR in my RX-8, this is a amazing track, unfortunately i didn't get a chance to change my tires so i had to work with what i got some crappy continental tires. still had lots of fun.
Awesome! I don't know why everyone knocks running on bad (grip-wise, not safety compromised type bad tires). Unless you're actually racing, doing an HPDE on less grippy tires is a blast and can teach a lot in terms of car control.
Yeah, you're going to be slower than other cars that you may otherwise be faster with with better tires, but... it's HPDE, not a race...!
It's the same principle I take when looking at modifying the car... I'd rather spend the $$ on seat time first and drive my car to the limits, learning along the way, then spend $$ on mods and be the guy driving a faster car slow...
just my .02...
