the Adaptronic literature very clearly states that you must retain the MAF for idle functions

no front O2 = continuous open loop mode

are you sure that you guys allowed to swim in the deep end? lol ...

Well, it starts, it revs and no limp mode without resorting to a cable .

I cut the loom to join the two wires on the OMP pump and gave it a false feed and
reinstalled the MAF sensor , still doesn't seem right to have MAF and MAP both installed but the RX-8 MAF acts as a heat sensor as well as a flow sensor to give the ECU info alongside the MAP sensor.

I always felt I needed this installed and got the Racing Beat alloy MAF tube like a year ago, as you can see below I chopped it up and fitted it in the Intercooler pipe.

Over the next week I'm going to try to finalise the mid section of the exhaust and plumb the screamer pipe back in plus a few other odds and sods then try and get Jaydee in the car to map it.

Jaydee is considered to be the best Mapper in the UK especially with one car producing 771RWHP on pump gas and in ten years Jaydee and Powergains Rotary shop have never lost an engine.

It seems even less right not to follow the ECU instructions properly since they clearly state that it has both and why. Again, it is a piggyback system. So the factory PCM still needs to be kept happy even if it is dumb to whatever else may be going on.

I lost interest when all the blah-blah-blah started, but let us know when you have some actual final results for yourself rather than some other car(s)

Real sorry that I came here to ask for help because we knew so little, I won't let it happen again,

Many thanks for your patience whilst knowing it ALL, man your sure NO "Team" player, don't worry about replying,

Thank you to those who did offer help but I'm out of here, never to return

Here's a link to Clive's build thread so anyone who is interested can follow progress.

@dznutzuk Clive does know the guys at Powergains, his race car has been with them for the last couple of months getting running. They're due to map it in the next week I think before it's first track test at Brands Hatch in December.

I doubt it'll go near a dyno, I'll post links to its race results though.
