Track Wheel and Tires Question

I posted this same question in the wheel and tire forum, but I thought I'd post here too since most RX8 owners probably don't buy 17" wheels except for winter tires.

I'm considering buying a set of Buddy Club QF wheels with the following specs:

17x9 et +63 front and rear wheels on Toyo RA1's or Nitto NT01's (255/40/17)

I'm wondering if they'll fit on the RX8. The reason I'd like to go with these high offsets is that they will also fit my S2000. I'm also planning to lower the RX8 by about an inch. I'm planning to get these soon, so any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

it will probably rub the inside rear wheelwell where the rear shock tower area protrudes out towards the wheel

a 3/16" spacer might do it

Great. Thanks. I'll go ahead and get the wheels. I was thinking that under worst case scenario, I'll use it on the S. The set's used, in mint condition, and about the price of a new set of OZ Ultraleggras.

You also need to make sure that the wheel will clear the front RX-8 brake calipers

Should fit with a spacer. Never seen an offset that high for an RX-8 application, must be for a S2000 originally. I've fit a 255/40/17 on a 17X9.5 +43 with no spacers and problems (NT03 Enkei/RA1).

I would check out the 5Zigen FR01-C or whatever they're called in 17X9 as well, they're cheap and should fit.

if you read the OP, he wants them to also fit on his S2000 as well as his RX-8

Thanks for everyone's input. I appreciate it. I had to get a set of wheels with that big of an offset to fit the S. With spacers, it looks like it might fit the 8 as well. I'll have to check for brake caliper clearance when I get it. I thought about other wheels too, but I'm getting these for a very good price and they weigh about 14.5 lbs. each.
