TPMS on race rims

Do you guys keep a set of TPMS on the race rims? Other than not knowing a flat tire electronically, is it okay to run the RX-8 without the sensors? Would it knock something out of wack or kick it into limp mode? What do you guys do to fix the annoying flash and beep

It's fine to run without TMPS. If you AutoX, or do Track Days, you check your pressure so frequently you don't need it. Yes it will throw on the TMPS light every once and a while, but it doesnt bother me.

I have no TPMS sensors in my autocross wheels. The only side-effect is the flashing light if the car stays running for more than 15min. Since i tend to shut it off in between runs, I only really see it on the way to and from the site over an event weekend.

I remember hearing the beep once or twice, but I think that was when a tire was genuinely low.

TPMS on track wheels here...alot of guys I know don't bother with running them. not a big concern for the reason others have stated above. personal preference.

WOW,

He Searched, He Found, He Scored.

Thanks, I am facing the same choice. Save for wheels, save for tires, then save for TPMS means none this year. I appreciate it. Not too worried about the beep if it is anything like the shift beep. Cannot hear it with windows down and helmet on over engine.

Thanks again.

Mike

I have honestly never noticed a flashing light or a beep - except the one when the needle swings all the way to the right :-)
