Very cool, we have a tie for 1st going to Topeka with Ron and Sam. Then KC and I in a tie for 3rd.....

Ok so lets hear about this course. Results seem odd to me. BS within .5 of AS which is awesome, however got beat by CS. Then SS, holy crap did they lay the smack down on the rest of stock or what.

1st gear downshift into the hairpin turn which you came into at the top of 2nd gear, apparently Keith figured out it was better to hold first and shift into 2nd entering the finish gate, the rest of us were shifting earlier which was harder to get right due to the extreme offset gates prior, seems obvious now >kicking self<

frankly, I'm about fed up with these overly tight/extreme offset east coast Pro Solo course desgns, you'd think that after having a course design protest filed by the competitors at Oscoda the light would have come on, apparently nobody is home yet

Congratulations to Keith, he drove very well and flat out beat us. At least a set of "my" shocks won, and my student (from long ago) won.

AS for the course.... The finish was pretty tight. And I'm with Mark it's getting a little old, and even more so since I don't have a 1st gear option. But at least this course had some technical stuff in it, unlike the joke Tour course in Toledo. It'd nice to have a whole Pro course that 1st gear for you guys or no boost for me is a issue. Nuts.....

The map posted was a pretty accurate representation, but it's a little squished side to side. The courses were more of a rectangle than a square.....

And I meant to thank Ron for letting me know my actual time on the right during the Challenge but left before the whole thing was over.

Topeka ought to be fun. I look forward to it.

Sam

Torque would have a been a BIG help on that course..... Something MR2 Turbo's and RX8's aren't overblessed with vs. Z06's.

Also, the place just got better with every run and SS ran later than did we. Hollis kept breaking out in the Challenge because he thought the grip was a lot better. And thanks to Ron in know I went .5 faster on the right course in the Challenge too.

Thanks people. It sure wasn't easy, and I'd have to say that Sunday was some of the best driving I've done under pressure in a while. Sam, Ron, GH, Joe, Sipe... I feel like a kid that just started autoxing compared to those names. Being pushed by the best can only result in two things... 1) being beat for lack of focus (or by damn great drivers), or 2) running at the top of the game with a little extra focus and let the chips fall where they may.

Nationals sure is going to be interesting.... (going back to that kid comment... I'm giddy with anticipation). :D

It was an interesting course to say the least. I also don't like going to 1st... but I'm getting used to it. Good/bad/indifferent, the 8 does it a gajillion times easier and better than a WRX ever could. And one more reason to like the car. Also...not bad for a car with just Konis and Kumhos. Stupid redlights in challenge always seem to be my downfall.... but it's the 1st challenge I made since '03. :D

Now I just need to find an exhaust before Nats. I don't have the resources/access to shops around here like some others do... heck, I don't even have a garage!

Sadly, I won't be at the ProFinale. I don't have the time available from work, nor the bling to take 2.5 extra days from work and make it to Topeka for Fri afternoon.

See everyone in Topeka!

-kC

Any exhaust shop should be able to saw off the muffler and replace it with a straight section of pipe for nominal cost...

See there's the problem. We have sound limits here for local events. I would need some kind of muffler.... but for nationals... Yeah a pipe can just be swapped on from the cat. (I don't know of Forbes field having any sound restrictions.)

Sounds like you need the Sipe Swaybar and Isley Exhaust. :D

I'm rather happy with the stock swaybar, where it is.

But the Isley exhaust will be done within a week or two. Just need to find a place locally that will do it. (ordering parts later this week)

If you get an OE midpipe, you won't have to hack off the stock muffler. When it comes time to sell the car, it'll be a lot easier to replace (and won't require a return trip to the shop).

maybe on those %^$%^$% tight Pro Solo courses (which wasn't an issue for us), but we'll see what happens when the going (and offsets) gets faster

Don't bother, KC. The Sipe bar doesn't help one bit.

Nothing to see here.. move along...
