Hey Mark, what about running no rear bar? I know I mentioned it before, but on street tires with my setup, no rear bar seems to be the way to go for me.

Great Rx8 Base model for STX!

I'm getting ready to sell my 2005 Base model Rx8. This car is setup for C Stock, is very light (2810 lb in CS race trim), and has been a great daily driver, and would make a great start to a STX car. I was going to do this myself, but it isn't in the cards for me right now and we need to sell the car.

Anyway, I know this needs to go in the for sale section, but I wanted to get the word out to the STX group in case someone is looking for a car. Details to follow once I get it listed for sale. Black with 50K miles on it.

Good luck with the sale man! :D

-Mark: Really? Fascinating. Then again, I don't know your alignment setup nor spring rates..lol.

It may work with some setups, but my STX car didn't seem to like no rear bar. Ruggles and I tried disconnecting it and that only made it push without fixing any of the off throttle oversteer the car had at the time. Not quite the balance I was used to in CS trim.

Where is the car located? I may be looking for base 6MT.

lol Mark I only run street tires with one club so I can save my Hoho's for SCCA events... :P

I'd really like to do some Tours next year however, but we'll see. Maybe we can co-drive for a tour or something, eh? That is assuming you remember how to use R comps. :P

In all seriousness though, what IS your setup/alignment currently anyways?

Teddie - That's the spirit! Great things comes to those who wait. Lemme know if you pick it up.

Why rehash the same subject one more time?

If it works for you, then fine. I always felt like it was a bandaid that didn't address the real issue; an incorrect balance of spring and bar rates. It was asserted earlier that it's all about the roll couple balance (see edited link above). It may seem that way, but there are other things going on in the suspension in which that viewpoint overlooks. That's not to say you will care or notice, but rather that I choose to skin my cat the way I see best fit to my own outlook and interests as I'm sure you do as well for yourself. It would be a bit boring if all we did is mimic each other and post "polly want a cracker" in every other reply.

Which btw I found a steal of a deal for a pair of Hyperco springs on eBay last night that appears to fit the bill. Changing to the red dot rear bar appeared to be almost insignificant relative to how loose the car is. The springs put the couple % where the bar adjustment range can dial in the balance.

I believe Joe & Anna's car is located in the Seattle/NW Washington state area, a bit of a hike from south Florida but maybe you can work something out that to suit you both

Thanks Jim......Carter drove well on Saturday but Brian drove better. On Sunday Carter drove very well.
Team is right...the car is wicked fast...I can't handle it yet even with my low boost ( Dad setting).
Team has his 8 well sorted...it is impressive.

Bump for a good car (I drove it at Packwood Tour one year) being sold by a good guy.

Joe, Shaikh (Fat Cat Motorsports) seems to be jonesing to build an STX RX8 after driving George's car...a possible buyer?

Anyone planning to do the Nashville Tour? I'm considering going, but I'm not going to drive 6 hours to run against nobody!

I registered. If Jim registers and Kristo switches the Honda to STX again then we will need one more to make a class.

Well, finished 1st for the year in BSP in my SCCA region. Was a very tough battle with a lot of fast people but I managed to bag it on my first three morning runs on Sunday (the afternoon runs don't count as it's a runoff for the Moss trophy..long story..basically I only had 3 runs in the morning to decide 1st between me and the other person who was really close in points to me). Overall, awesome season, and can't wait to go to more National events next year with some 285/30's and all my kinks/setup stuff sorted out.

Congrats on the solid season Marc.

What kind of wheels are you going to mount those 285/30's on?

Thanks guys!

My plan was to sell my Enkei RPF1 18x9 for another set of RPF1s but 18x10 +38. Can't think of any other wheels that are worth it really, both in size fitment and price, you know?

If I ever went down the BSP road, those would be the wheels I'd chose as well.

Personally, I'd keep the 18x9's and use them for a set of 255 or 275 Hoosier wets.

Just wondering, any of you guys going to be running any VA events? Or perhaps, Hershey in 2 weeks?

Like for example, the event at RIR this upcoming weekend. *Cough* Chiketkd, I see you're in VA.
