Congrats to Kenneth for a very strong STX win.
The highlight of the event for me was driving 1200 miles straight through, then getting the car out of the trailer and pulling the front shocks out so they could be shipped off before getting some needed sleep ....

No, I was likely going to cancel regardless. I am going to the Evo Super Shootout in Lincoln the following weekend, unless it is cancelled. So far not that many people have signed up. My front shocks arrive back tomorrow.
Maybe now a few people won't take everything they read on teh intrawebs so seriously

forgot to mention of few other RX8s that did well in Toledo
Sparky had some Ladies drivers (Laura & Taylor) fighting it out for the top spots in L3 driving his car, they finished 2nd and 4th after leading the first two heats. And Teddie finished 3rd in L3, then went all the way in the Ladies Challenge to finish 2nd.
Sparky's son Chris did his daddy proud with a great job codriving his way to a great finish for a newish 16 yo driver in a tough field of seasoned veterans too. Sparkys 2nd place finish allowed him to finish 1st in the Atlantic series points battle too. So they had a great event with four drivers in a single RX8.

It was really great putting so many faces and names to avatars and forum names out at Toledo. It looks like consistency was the key for me since Dennis, Jeff and Simmons all had fantastic times on one side. Dennis and Jeff both suffered from a little bit of bad luck too (and Mark too apparently?). I'll take it though!
I hope my good luck carries through to Peru...

Belated congratulations to Kenneth for his win at Toledo. We've been so busy the last couple weeks driving the country and still trying to get back into the office for a few days of work between that I haven't been keeping up with the forums like I usually do.
Kenneth is right my heals today and put down a 67.0 scratch run that I couldn't match so who knows what will happen tomorrow...I have new tires on so no excuses this time...lol. Eric, Micheal, and Allen are all within reach as well so it promises to be another exciting day tomorrow.
STX with it's mix of different cars that are all competitive is certainly exciting this year, much better IMO than the spec 2k class that STR has become.
Thanks Mark for mentioning Chris, Laura and Jordan (Taylor). We're all really excited to come to Lincoln and have a great time meeting everyone in what promises to be a 60-70 driver class between open and the ladies.

Yeah, there was no way I was catching Dennis with the driving that I was doing. I definitely didn't have it together yesterday and even if I had my fastest scratch times clean, I wouldn't have been able to win it. Still hurts to cone away 1.2 seconds though. Congratulations again on the win, Dennis! You deserved it. You need a sticker on your car that says "Caution: Flying Sparks" or something.

Thanks Kenneth. You put down the times as well, just ended up on the wrong side of the penalty situation similar to what happened to me in Toledo. Great that we were able to split the wins at those two event given the times we were running...there was only about 0.2 seconds difference between our best raw times over the course of both.
The car was running great. Good to see everything coming together well just in time for Lincoln in a few weeks. Here's a video my last run on Sunday:

IMHO, it would be equally "risky" to bury it in STR should it not be able to run with the MX-5 and S2000. The first year (when the car is still relatively underdeveloped) would be the time to place it in STX. If half-way through the year we find it too strong, we have time to throw it into STR. As long as people know STX is going to be its "sandbox" until it's a known quantity.

you think it is better to put it in the lower class and see if it upsets a points series like Pro Solo before saying "oh, sorry" rather than playing it safe and putting in the higher class and moving it down later if it doesn't pan out which you also happen to call the "riskier" option?
sigh ...

I also don't understand the talk about being underdeveloped. No offense, but if you know what you're doing, it's not that hard to prep a car to the limit of ST rules quite quickly.
It won't be riskier decision to class the car in STR. I promise Toyota and Subaru are not going to stop making them because of it. Neither will it turn away newbies who come to play. It will just become more affordable as time goes on and maybe prove they should be the car for 'a' class in the future.

If Pro SOLOs are a worry, exclude it from STX at Pros to prevent this. They have an alternate rule set for just that reason. That gets rid of your SRS BZNS Pro competitors (in the name of stability). Let people prove how fast they are in the meantime at Tours and at local events. This is all just my opinion as I would love to run against them and see another popular car in STX and give them the best possible chance for successes and proper classing in ST.
Sigh... :-)

Where were you when they were classing the RX8 in Street Prepared???? They never separate a car in different classes between Pro and Tour events. You are out to set precedents all around I suppose ...

^Think anyone will notice if you leave 'em on for our runs in Lincoln?
(to be honest, with a blown out rotator cuff limiting my right arm mobility and next to no seat time this year, I will need them)
