Sport Suspension?
Howdy,
When I look at various stock parts for my '05 on the mazdamotorsports site, I see the occasion thing like:
"SPORT SUSP SPECIAL TUNED SUSP"
I wasn't aware that there was a sport vs. regular suspension option for the '05... Am I misunderstanding something? Was there some kinda sport package available?
Thanks!
Mark

Yes, the Sport Suspension includes larger brakes, stiffer springs, better shocks, LSD.
However, nearly all RX-8s have it, as it was automatically added to all Manual Transmission 8s, plus all Touring and Grand Touring. In addition, it was added to SOME base automatics. So the only way you can have a "standard" suspension is to have one of the rarest combos, a base AT without it additionally added.
The OEM wheels are the normal indication, as the 16" of the base ATs without the sport suspension can not possibly fit on the Sport suspension because the wheels are physically too small to fit around the calipers of the sport suspension, requiring at least 17" wheels.

Sport suspension includes 18" wheels, bigger sway bars (yellow dot), larger rotors, maybe something else I'm forgetting. Basically, it's standard on all 6MT RX-8s and optional on AT.
It has nothing to do with the Sport trim/package that was optional on the 6MT (fog lights, traction control, HIDs).
