My son neglected to print out a number for an autox, instead using the liquid shoe polish. Then he neglected to wash it off after the event. It's now decided to stay--no amount of washing with warm soapy water makes a dent in it.

Obviously, he could scrape it off with a razor blade, but would that damage the glass? Is there any simple solvent for this stuff which won't harm the car?

Razor blade shouldnt damage the glass. ( i take it that its on the window?) If so, You can try rubbing alcohol or paint thinner. Apply a little on a towel and just rub it in.

razor blade and windex...just soak it with windex wait about a minute, than scrape away....your window will be ok...

happened to me....sucks...it rained at the event so I got shoe polish all over my car.

The high-pressure self wash stations took care of it though.

 

Take it to Jim's Detail shop bwahaha.

 

Something similar happened to me,

SOmeone put one of those flyers for clubs on my windshield while it was raining, then i turned on the wipers but it got stuck up top by the rearview mirror.. then it dried. i scraped the paper off, but all the color is still there imprinted in the glass. No amount of washing or anything helps.
