That'll work, as long as El Toro allows propane bbq's we should be good to go.

I can't remember, do Pro's have a welcome dinner on Friday night? If not, let's just plan on doing it after practice starts on Friday. Bring your own bbq meat and paper plates, I'll supply condiments, bbq and the place to hang out. I'll also have some extra hot dogs or chicken, for those that aren't prepared.

I am slacking.... Should have posted Sun night. I have the flu , I think the Sun afternoon weather got to me. Overall it was a fun event, great group in BS. I was very disappointed for mp5, thought he was going to crack the top 3, but he fell apart on Sun.

At this point I still don't think we can make a call on the H VS K tire battle, to many variables with the narrow course and elevation changes. While I am happy to have the win I was devastated by the CS smack down. The last few events I have been able to run heads up with or beat all the fast AS cars and crushed the Sol the one time I ran against them. Not sure if having a co-driver for the first time in three years effected me, the flu coming on or I just did not get the course.

Looking forward to the Pro.

I don't think it was the co-driver... in fact, you should do that more often. Either way, I had fun driving the car with you. Being 1 and 2 after Saturday was a pretty sweet feeling.

If you want me to not choke next time, you'll need to send me the MaxQData files for our runs.

Yeah I doubt that will happen. Jennifer is an only child and the word share is not part of her vocabulary. Even though she gave the OK it created some tension all weekend. Then when Robertson opened his mouth about our spare set of new tires to Dietz things went from bad to worse.

I have not even looked at the data yet, guess I should, maybe I can find why I never matched my dirty run. Once I have them on the computer I will send you a copy.

p.s. I hear that James will be in Barbara's RX8 at the Pro.

[smacktalk]I think it had to do with the fact you went straight, rather than around a turn, on your fastest scratch, saving about .7 relative to what you could back it up with...and making you a half second slower than my best clean run...which included the mother of all mistakes on the downhill left hander after the fast sweeper at the top of the course (at least a .3 to .4 error) [/smacktalk]

I have no idea what you are talking about. I hit the inside cone on the far turn around, I slowed to much and drove it super tight and ran over the inside cone. I did not skip any turns.

I guess it is easy to set fast dirty times, hey Midpack.

Hey, that's Mr. Midpack to you, buddy

Let's not talk about cones that didn't save time, ok? It's still too painful...

The MaxQData stuff is pretty interesting. I want to thank FM, UHOSER, Kevin D. and all for helping us getting us going with the software. You guys were very helpful Saturday night, after we learned that all of the data we had gathered on Saturday was aggregated in one 4 meg file

Not entirely sure how to interpret this stuff in a way that will improve my driving, but it does help in understanding where time was lost, looking back. The thing that I find interesting is that, as an example, my best run on Sunday I KNEW I messed up in one section big time...and the data supports that, as the speed exiting the turn was 5mph slower than on my second fastest run. What I can't figure out is how to quanitify how much that means in time? Oh well, more playing around with the files/software should help...or give me a massive headache

I don't know how the MaxQ does it, but the DL1 has a "time slip" function that shows you exactly how much time one run gains or loses on another in a really simple and clear way (once you figure out how to use it).

Sounds like you all had a blast. Wish we could have been there.

it was a blast, perfect RX-8 course in many ways, unless you totally f'd up or had a bad setup the engine was always in prime 2nd gear powerband

too bad we didn't have a Pro format, six more attempts and I may have gotten a clean run ...

Then why'd we go so slow, relatively speaking?

We were just looking at our runs and found that if you use "zoom gps map" "QView" it gives you a lot of data: accel, decel, lat Gs and if you coasted.

Coach makes shoes, too? Are they as tacky as their $800 purses are?

Allow me to give thanks once again for my low-maintenance girlfriend...

Very well written by Joe It is nice to see a clear, concise, synopsis of individual classes and their battles. He should submit a request to write for the National Championships.

Sounds like fun out west!
