It doesn't even make any sense. Is the DSP proposal dead? None of those cars have any chance against a CSP Miata, so they may as well leave them in BSP or put them in ASP because they're no better fit there, performance capability or chassis type. The whole thing appears to be disorganized chaos without any true objective other than change for the sake of change.

Well to update this thread...

Per the November Fastrack: http://www.scca.org/documents/Fastra...strack-nov.pdf

Comment from the ****: moving these cars would not make them any more competitive in CSP than in BSP. At Lincoln the playing field appears to have been leveled between the Evos and the other cars in the class. In addition, cars such as the M3 and RX8 are dissimilar to the rest of CSP.
The proposal to move the RX-8 to CSP was nixed.

While a lot of time has passed (I wanted to see how the conversation developed on the SCCAForums thread), I finally decided to sit down and knock out a 5 page letter this evening outlining why the RX-8 fits the DSP class in terms of its dimensions, weight and power/thrust along with supporting dyno graphs, wheel torque curves, etc.

Hopefully, this proposal will be published for member comment in the Spring.

I definitely support this move. I just bought some A6's just to have some fun locally and see how much work I would need to do to make the car competitive when/if we get moved to DSP.

From e-mails exchanged with my local **** representative, my letter has not been posted to their forum yet. I made sure to send him a copy of the letter and he will keep an eye out for it on their forum. He mentioned that he liked the justification/comparison of my letter but will see what the group as a whole decides.

As I learn more, I'll update this thread...

Update...

SCCA Letter #4118 Update

Your letter has been reviewed by the Street Prepared committee, and a recommendation has been made to the SEB. The SEB will review your letter and the Street Prepared committee's recommendation on their next conference call.
The plot thickens...

They posted in Fastrack the prior month or two that the idea was not going to be considered. The same thing happened with the 200 TWR proposal. They can't seem to make up their mind on anything these days.

I submitted feedback. Would my car be legal in bsp/dsp with the ms front and rear bumper if I removed the wing? It would be nice to run on race rubber.

And in this same Fastrack there is one notice that the Fiat 500 isn't going to be classed due to rollover safety concerns and another notice classing it in G Stock.

Apparently the process now has two left feet, lol

IMHO, your letter will be most effective if you share your personal feelings rather than just repeating what others have already said.
