Why do you want to remove the system? It's not robbing hp and weighs next to nothing....

You will get several codes. P0442 being one of them. Basically if you mess with anything emissions-related on pretty much any modern car you will get a CEL. Don't know of a way for you to avoid getting a CEL, why do you want to get rid of this stuff in the first place?
