Pictures from Daytona 2008

Here are pictures from the Grand Am Daytona Event. I'll continue to post throughout the weekend. We had Rolex Practice and the Koni Race.

I took lots of pictures of the RX-8's and some of others. I hope you all enjoy. The Speedsource #70 qualified at POLE!!!

I made some decals for ROAR on short notice, so they graciously ran one for me! All the tracks in the Koni Challenge Series except New Jersey which isn't complete yet. I can now say that I made decals for a Grand Am Pro Team! They rock!

Qualified 2nd.

F-18's flew by a few times.

LEGO!!! u take GREAT PICTURES!!!

Lego, what do you think of the blocked oil coolers on the hypersport car?

I know Daytona is an aero track, but thats a little extreme to completely block off the oil coolers for aero, I hope they don't overheat!

The oil cooler is most likely in front of the radiator. It appears they are using the oil cooler opening for the brakes. Or it could be really cold?

Nice pictures.

They're in different race series. The yellow #69 RX-8 is in the ST class of the Koni Challenge, while the white #69 RX-8 is in the GT class of the Rolex Grand Am series.

I talked to the team today about it. They put the oil coolers a little angled and to the inside and ducted the air from the main inlet to them. They did that to test aerodynamics and see if they could pick up any speed on the straights. They told me it didn't really do much. The little holes are for the brake ducts. I have pictures of the setup I'll post in a few minutes.

Crap! When we left the track at midnight, the 70 was still 1st. (15th overall)
