Cool Peru Tour? who is going?

Well Peru will be my first national event in the RX-8 and it will be my 4th event in total in the car so I expect to have my *** handed to me by most everybody there. However, it will be fun none the less. And if I’m sucking up at the racing, I can drowned my sorrows away, and maybe get my hips hugged (those that have been there before will understand) So who else is going to be going? i'm the first person signed up in BS thus far....

Good luck JT! I'm sure you will do well. FYI, I think for a sticky site like Peru. You're air pressures should be in the low 40's.

Hoping to make it. Milwaukee for sure. We could make it an rx8 newb-fest.

I initially planned on going to the Peru Tour this year but building a house in NC has most likely derailed that plan. It could still happen though...

As far as likely competitors, Chris Harvey and Jon Rogers will very likely show up and try to repeat their 1-2 finish from last year.

Great to hear you are making the trip to Peru. John and I are planning to run the Peru and Milwaukee Tours. Can't wait to get back on the high grip concrete.

yea the car owner isn't available for Milwaukee so i doubt i'll be at that one. unless there is a co-drive available i think it'll just be peru and nationals for me.

I finally started to get the hang of the 8 this weekend. 4th overall raw and pax just behind two guys in an S2000's and one driver in a 350Z...sad thing was that the hoosiers the 350Z owner had ordered didn't come in so i gave them my new set haha. so they beat me on my own tires haha. should teach me for helping out the competition.

my mental trick i learned this weekend was...when your brain says use 50% throttle go 100% throttle...seemed to make up almost a second haha. oh and that the show room alignment is not a raceable alignment... (here's what the front was at .28c d .49c p +.21t d -.22t p)

I just can't let JT take my car to Milwaukee without me... and I don't have a snow ***** chance in hell to get the time off to go.

I will enjoy the Peru and Topeka events, especially with JT cheering me on from the side lines.

The new alignment is great, me NOT so much. I picked up a ton of bad habits last year in my Protege and need to clean that up and get comfortable with my new 8.

With luck I will be able to get in 3 more events before Peru and get a better feel for the car.

I look forward to meeting the community down in Topeka.

Looks like I'll be at the Peru Tour this year after all. I've tamed the oversteer from the Atlanta Tour but this will only be my 2nd event on concrete. My first being last years Peru Tour. Hopefully some sage advice from my former Tire Rack co-workers will help me get near the top. See you guys in a few weeks.

the Peru site surface will require a much looser setup relative to an asphalt surface, you may want to untame it for the event

I'm getting there Thursday night so hopefully the Friday T-n-T will help with setup changes.

Well yesterday we spent 2 hours trying to wear down the last of our hoosiers before mounting the new set this week. seems that once they are up to full temperature they just don't wear down! Now lets just hope for a sunny forcast so we don't have to trailer the rain set down with us!

look forward to meeting you guys. Evolv (car owner) and i will be hanging around the 40th anniversary RX-8 and my red TT will be there as well. stop in and say hi.

This time of year, at Peru, an afternoon "pop-up" storm is almost always a possibility.
We are fortunate in Central/Northern Indiana to not to have the flooding issues that Southern Indiana/Iowa/Illinois/Missouri are experiencing.

See you this weekend-

Good info, we get that all the time here on the prairies as well. it comes down good an hard for a while, then dry and sunny 30 minutes later...

looks like i'll probably suck it up and just trailer the wets and the R's. arg for more gas money, but good cause then more room in the car for sleeping if need be.

I hope the rain holds off this weekend... Otherwise I'll just be a spectator

I had to back out of this one, unfortunately. I didn't think my Kumhos would arrive in time (but they did, of course), and my co-driver was unavailable. Good luck to everyone driving!

I hope it stays dry too. If not, I'll be riding on some ultra-sweet Conti All-season tires FTW!!!!

Looking forward to it! See you all this weekend!

(everyone bring your wets - that way it for sure won't rain!)
