I can only make it for the tour, I'm taking the weekend before off for our local club event up at willamette pass. Two weekends of autox and camping in a row is all I can get off, and I think handle!!

I guess it's a little early for all the procrastinators to have signed up...and I do know of a few from my region who are going to make it...BUT, the entry numbers for Packwood are very light...I guess it's just the whole gas/economy effect and Packwood's kind of remote (not really, it's only 2 hours from either Seattle or Portland) location...

Hey Mike, good to see you signed up in BS. Co-driving an RX8, it looks like? I'm thinking about coming for the tour, especially if some more folks sign up. (I'm trying to convince someone to bring a certain mid-engine car ).
It's too far for ULLLOSE, I expect...heck, it might be too far for me.

Zach, it's not too bad of a drive...leave early AM (like 5 or so) and you'll be there well before dinner time. It would be cool if Bryan brought his MR2 T...I have a feeling that, notwithstanding his outstanding skills, it would prove to be a very good car for the Packwood surface, as long as we don't have another "chutes and pin turns" course like we did last year..
Jason, I know you guys don't like the remoteness and lack of "amenities" in Packwood, but maybe, if your family situation (young daughter, wife who autocrosses) was different (read: old guy who's wife doesn't care if he isn't around for a weekend...guess who?), you'd be more upbeat about running there...
Actually, this old guy is flying his wife up to Seattle on Wednesday, where I'll be holding business meetings, and then taking a nice, scenic drive down through the Ranier area Thursday/Friday...I might have her bring along my fly rod and do a little trout fishing on the way

Sounds like good times, in a beautiful locale. Packwood has to be among the most scenic sites in the west. Wishing I could go this year ...

Too bad TeamFlipFlop won't be there, TeamMR2 is on the fence, and Team3peat isn't a fan of Packwood. At least FlipFlop and ULLLOSE should have some fun this weekend in Wendover
Anywho, I'd still like to check out the site at least once. Anyone have a recommendation on a place to stay? I know most everything might be booked by now...

Gotta agree with Jason on this one. I hate having to go to Packwood vs. going to Bremerton.
It is my opinion that the biggest reason we are in Packwood is because of the site is better for the Prosolo which I tend to dislike.
I wish we would do the Tour at Bremerton and the Pro at Packwood.
Packwood does have better parking(indoors for many) and a decent Sat eat site(Fire hall) but it is remote.
I will still be there partying it up and giving you BS guys fits with the DS car though!

Zach, check you pm's.
Bryan has a tough choice...I'm sure he would like to run the turbo in BS, both for the experience and, if Joe ends up not running BS, for the tires. But, he hasn't run the ES car on the big HoHo's and Jerry Jenkins could give him a good benchmark, as far as relative times go...
As far as TeamSipe goes...yeah, it makes much more sense to drive 1500 miles to hang out in scenic Topeka than it does to drive less than half the distance to run both a Tour and Pro in a beautiful location...yeah, that's the ticket

well I have to drive to Topeka anyways and am running the Mazda/ProParts test & tune 9 days later so it makes sense to get it out there early, but I also have a blown LR shock and another problem that can't get repaired until after Wendover.
Going to KC gives me more time for the repairs and serves the overall goal of Nats, which to me makes more sense than $200/night to spend 9 days in backwoods sasquatch country by myself with nothing to do but

I have mentioned the 2 site option at the meetings but too many influential people(actually go to meetings='s "influential") have Prosolo on the brain around here.
I don't think I will do our Pro this year.
They are too hard on the car(clutch) and and the challenge is a flawed system due to sandbagging/differing levels of competition in various classes.
Besides, anybody can get a 25 second course down after 6 runs...Well...Almost anybody.
I much prefer Tours and paxing the end results for fun.
