Fresh 285 A6's may have helped.

Interestingly, the 350z gap seemed to be less of an advantage at this event. Lee's one-flyer was a 2.106.

Like I said, in autox we ask the car to do strange things, things it wont be asked to do in any other type of racing, the dynamics of the course and the car you chose sometimes conflict. Guess that's why the Lotus only has one win, wrong course, or was it just because the fastest guy took a year off to slum in your Mazda.

That would be impossible...as you never talk about your set-up.

Actually, I'm going with a set-up similar to what Wood/Braun used. Mike is much more open about his set-up and I'd like to use his as a starting point and adjust from there based on my driving style.

You could not be more wrong, just because I don't reply to the weekly "help me setup my car thread" does not mean I have not shared my setup... Search this forum and you will see from day one my car setup has been an open book. I have wised up over the years and no longer spend hours on useless debates with people over setup stuff, but if you search you can find the posts with my alignment, shock settings, swaybar and how to build my exhaust. My attitude now is take it or leave it, I have used the same setup since Aug 05', and it works just fine for me.

I hope you meant "weekly" setup my car thread, not "weakly"

Anyhow, what's even funnier is that:
1. My car's set up is based entirely on things Jason shared with me
2. Matthew wasn't particularly fond of the way the car was set up...

It was in response to a weak post, but you caught me.

Is that the Prosolo setup that he won with, which was a lot like my car, or the Hoosier/big bar setup he used to finish second with at natls? I heard he just hates the 8.

Not sure the set up was off for Nationals, as the car felt fine and was on the pace both days...if I hadn't freaked on day one, we likely would have both done well...but, the bigger issue, I believe, for Matthew was not having the tires cool enough on his last run on day two.

I also shouldn't put words in his mouth, regarding whether he really liked the set up we ran. That's for him to say, not me...same with his opinion of the RX8. What I can say is we was a fun guy to co-drive with and hang out with at the events.

Matt sat at our table at the Nationals banquet, and while I forget his exact words, suffice it to say he was clear that the RX-8 isn't his favorite car in the world.

Please enlighten me.
Based on our Z experience Nissan fixed the "very sensitive" ice mode problem by '05. Our first Z was an '03 Enthusiast model and the ice mode problem was a killer. Our next Z was an '05 Track model and we never encountered ice mode. Both cars were setup the same and we used stock pads on both.

I'm sure that has nothing to do with getting beaten on multiple occasions vs the usual domination factor ...

That's not exactly fair...he had very limited seat time in the '8, so it would be hard to just jump in and dominate...by Topeka, he had it dialed in pretty good, winning the Pro and making a strong run at Nationals.

Maybe it was just the pressure of having such a quick co-driver that led to his not really falling in love with the RX8

That never slowed him down before, but I honestly only meant it as a Matthew is easily one of the top Solo2 drivers in the country
