I second that third, so you're getting more than one opinion.
In third gear, how fast you're going is pretty much what RPM you would be at if you were in third...yes, that was redundant...but it was an attempt.

Let me be the first to put forth fourth.
Lots of power in fourth at 70 - and I don't want to be changing again within two seconds, (maybe my terminal velocity is faster than the average overtaker here - when I pass, they stay passed!).
My rule is if the speedo says less than 65, use third, if more, fourth.

quite possible, the actual radius should be smaller than the theoretical due to sidewall squat, etc.
