I finally got Magnets!!!

After 2 seasons of autocrossing with tape for numbers, i finally have magnets. I'm so happy

We got a really great 25"X108" Magnetic Sheet for only $45. Not bad at all (i think). With that we were able to cut out a full set of numbers for 3 cars, and have plenty of magnet to spare.

I'll post up pics Sunday after the next event :D

Imagine trying to make an "8" with tape every time. It gets pretty annoying, but i did get really good at it.

It usually just ended up looking like an hour glass symbol. Thats fine though... kind of represents time, and at an Autocross thats what its all about.

I think i may switch to "00" - a number that doesnt actually exist in nature. Eh, Nevermind... i'll stick to "8" for obvious reasons.
When that is taken i have a back up "1" so i can be "18"... to celebrate the Age of Consent

HA!

Or "81" for the age of senility! Then you would have an excuse for driving slow...

What do you mean by standup?
I don't know what the requirements for HPDE Magnets are. Send me a rules form and i'll let you know. Also, we cut these off of a HUGE sheet. I'm sure you could cut these to whatever size you liked.

What I meant was -- will they stay on the car at 125mph? When I used to AutoX I rarely went over 50 so there is a pretty big difference between the two events in regards to speeed. I have never seen anything saying you couldn't use them at HPDE events - but they usually say tape never have I seen magnets suggested.

:D

I've used magnetic numbers at hpde's, over 120 mph no problem.
