Holy Wheel Hop Batman!

I was practicing my launches today..., and I just can't figure out how to kick out the wheel hop. I know it hops from Auto-X, so I thought maybe I just wasn't giving it enough revs. I revved it to 6000, slipped the clutch a little to get the car rolling, and then dropped the clutch and WOTed.

Car hopped and hopped. Didn't want to go beyond 6000rpm, because breaking **** wasn't worth it.

How do I stop it?

A friend of mine told me it was because of an independent rear end. I think that is bull. I have the same problem as well. Also, my last car was an Audi A6 2.7t slightly modded. I could do 4 wheel burnouts without any wheel hop. (But is was quite a violent launch)

Any one who has delt with this share. Please.

Has anyone tried the JIC traction rods? Their description says they eliminate wheel hop -shrug-

not an expert by any means, but you may want to consider the tires you are running (sticky, soft or hard, shitty), tread depth, and the type of material (asphalt, tarmac, concrete, etc) that you are launching on. If you are on a track, I imagine the

I've never experienced any wheel hop, but then again, I've only done one or two launches from 4-5k. It was fun, but it was also near the ends of the lifes of the tires. Kind of a "going away party," if you will. So my tread depth was low and tires were the stock re040s and the material was normal roadway concrete.

My brother had bad wheel hop on his older civic when he changed the tires to a more aggressive rubber...idk...just an idea

I was running 225/45 Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Positions. Now, I know that the RX-8 is launchable, as I've seen it being done at AutoCross.

I can't do rear sway bars, or any major suspension mods because I wish to compete within B-Stock class in AutoCross.

Any ideas? Maybe technique?

I have tried it with both my summer tires Kuhmos SPT and with my winter tire Pirelli Snow Tires. I am beginning to think it is a shock thing.

I am planning to upgrade to Koni shocks. So that should help. Can you elaborate on the alignment and technique aspect? Thanks.
