Question headroom?

ok, so i a fairly tall guy (6'2") and while test driving an 8 with a sunroof i noticed that my dome was a little close to the roof. you guys have any trouble with headroom while wearing your helmets?

when i get a chance i'll try getting in with my helmet on but i wanted to hear what problems, if any, you guys have had.

Don't buy this car with the sunroof if you intend wearing a helmet. I am 6' and find that I need to lower the seat as low as possible and still can only just fit in with a helmet on. There is more headroom without the sunroof and is better suited to the taller driver.

I am 6". I have gone to a custom bracket with no rails and a directly bottom mounted seat and still have headroom issues - don't get the sunroof.

I am 5'8" and had to get a custom seat in order to have a comfortable driving position while wearing a helmet. Don't get the sunroof if you track your car.

I have the same problem, but I just live with it, might buy seats soon. I'm 5'10"

i won't be tracking the car, just auto-x so i'm not really worried about rollover safety or being in the car with a helmet on for long periods of time. i'm going to look at the car again this afternoon and i'll take my helmet with me to see if it's something i can deal with.

If you autocross with any regularity at all, you really need to buy a RX8 with no sunroof.

You will likely end up driving with your seat tilted further back than you prefer, or driving with your helmet wedged against the roof. If you are >6' and long in the torso, think about another car.

6'0, longer torso, with short legs.

I have a non-sunroof car, and I can't turn my head left without my helmet bonking into the ceiling. Annoying.

6'1" with the sunroof. With helmet, my head's wedged against the sunroof opening and angled a little to the right. For an autocross run, it's OK. I'm worried about extended time on a track that way.

I'm 6"3 and invested in some memoryfab brackets and custom seat...Now with helmet on and seat all the way forward...I still have 2 inches of clearance

thanks for the advice guys. i went and tried the helmet last night. it's a little short on headroom but it's not bad. since i don't plan on tracking the car i think i can deal with it.
