Question first track visit in rx8

i went to the local 1/8 mile........never been to one in any car

first run i just looked stupid b/c tires just spun...........i had no idea it would be so slippery
then i tried with dsc on and got a 9.8
tried agian and feathered first but got to excited in 2nd and got 5-10deg sideways at 40 mph...........

so 9.8 with dsc is that any good

i searched and couldnt find any 1/8 mi times............what are some of yours?

ill try again next week i think i can get at least a 9.5 if i can stop spinning in 2nd

hmm, i always launch at 4k, but i never get any slippage. i go easy on the clutch though

not a bad run though. it looks like you would have kept up with the other car if you would have had a better reaction time

Chancejat, i think your time is about right. I took my 8 to red river raceway a week after i got it and ran low 10's in the 1/8 mile. I dont remember what speed i was at by the 1/8 but i remember that my best time in the 1/4 was 14.7 @ 96 mph. I also had problems with spinning off the line. I cant say i ever got sideways going into second.

hey chet...........the drag strip is differrent its "slippery"..........usally my tires wont break loose when i shift into 2nd............but on the track they did..........they just wouldnt catch..........i guess it could be all the rubber on the track or maybe they wet it i dont know it was my first time
