Yep, that was the race. When the Z spins out, you can see my brothers white MG 'Cobra' at the starting line. I am a few cars behind him.
Besides SCCA and CDC, what else is there in NOVA?
clyde, I just noticed your with teamWTF. I saw you all at Fedex a few weeks ago I think.

The CDC events at Harry Grove are OK for getting your feet wet but the really fun events are at FedEx field or Ripken stadium and are hosted by the WDCR SCCA and Philly SCCA respectively. The NCC BMW CCA and Autocrossers Inc also host events at Ripken. All are worthwhile to attend and will be much more fun than anthing at Harry Grove's postage-stamp sized lot.

At FedEx, mine was the one the with yellow nose. It ran in the fourth heat in Ladies class, and then John and I both drove it in BS during the fifth heat. Sorry we didn't make it interesting this time...no spins, no massive cone counts on any one run. Check back in October.
Some clubs/sites...
National Capital Chapter of the BMW Car Club - Mostly at Bowie and Ripken
Philly SCCA - Some at Ripken, the rest further away
Autocrossers, Inc. - All at Ripken
[url=http://www.mscw.com/de06/06sp.html]Mazda Sports Car Club] - Rosecroft Raceway
National Road Rally - Cumberland Airport
Chesapeake Region Porsche Club - Ripken and Cumberland
Greater Washington Region MB club - Winchester, VA
Tidewater Sports Car Club - Southeastern VA
Of those, Autocrosser's, Inc is very good. Philly SCCA and NCCBMW are usually okay (I'd skip the NCC events in Manassas, though). It's been a long time since I've run with PCA, but wasn't all that impressed with them when I did. The Porsche and Benz clubs tend to get a little upset when someone driving a different kind of car is faster than them (and specific people and cars have been known to get banned because of it). I've heard some good things about National Road Rally and some not so good things, but haven't ever run with them. I've heard fantastic things about some of the sites used by Tidewater, but have never been down there.
Obviously, most of those are MD. There aren't a lot of sites in the area that the clubs have access to, and most of the ones that we can use are pretty lousy. FedEx is great, Ripken is very good, Cumberland is supposed to be okay, Bowie is okay, Rosecroft is falling apart (or was, the last time I was there), Harry Grove sucks, Osbourne Park HS sucks, ACU-4 (a concrete hovercraft landing pad that Tidewater uses in VA) is supposed to be fantastic.
There are a few other clubs that run events in VA (NASA, I think there's a Corvette club, etc), but don't know much more about them.
I think there's something to be said for running on different kinds of sites and different kinds of courses. There's a lot of experience to be gained.
