Team is remembering the sub-freezing Moultrie(near Valdosta) Tour a few years back.Temp is normally well into the 70's in late Feb but not that year.Man it was cold,I don't remember anything about the event except the cold.

LOL, my bad. When I saw the info posted it made me think it was this weekend and I know they've been getting some cold weather. Hopefully it'll be better in a month

Hey guys,

Just wanted to introduce myself.... I'm new to this forum, but been autocrossing a bit. Ran an STS2 CRX last year nationally, and now I had to go back to my daily driver 350z. I know that's prolly a bad word here, but you guys seem to be a serious group of autocrossers so I'm hoping I'm welcome

I look forward to meeting all of you in the B-stock grid, and watching your taillights on course. I'll be in the silver 350z, prolly spinning out.

Thanks for introducing yourself Jay. You did quite well in STS2 at Nats - you finished just behind one of my local hotshoes Ian Baker.

I'll be in the #70/170 grey RX-8 with my co-driver Shawn (moxnix). I'll be sure to say hi.

I'll tell you what, he was a whole different driver at Nationals! Throughout the season, there were a couple of events where I was right on him....Then at Nationals, after the first day, I was something like 2 seconds behind!

Man, I'm gonna miss the close competition and comradery of STS2. Hopefully BS is the same way, and it doesn't turn into a "my car is better than your car" debate. The Z forums are wrought with those

Anyway, see you there!

^ Jay, I'll be doing my first event in the RX-8 this coming weekend. Hopefully it won't be a rough initiation. Looking forward to Dixie - should be a blast regardless of where I end up placing.

Good luck! I hope your first race will be better than mine. My first pass I forgot and left my traction control on. Man, I'd be smart if I weren't so stupid

My co-driver and I did our first event with the car today. Thanks to my him, I remembered to always switch the TCS off.

Running sticker V710's on a mid 50 degree day with strong 30-40mph gusts was definitely interesting. Tires never really got up to temp, but we both got a chance to feel out how the car handles. The RX-8 is definitely easier to drive fast than my former D-stock 2.5L WRX ever was...

See you folks in Georgia!

P.S. Mike (mwood), are you still planning to co-drive with someone at this event? Only 24 spots left...

Jason,

It seems like you figured the car out pretty well by your 2nd event - Ruth posted these PAX indexed results on SCCA Forums for the 2/10 Florida Equipe Rapide event:

http://sccaforums.com/forums/storage...2301.Index.pdf

2nd in class, 7th in PAX is not too shabby considering the quality of drivers that were in attendance.

Uh oh, there is espionage afoot! You saw that before I did! On the local forum, they had the old PAX numbers posted, so I didn't pay them any mind. It was a pretty tight course though, with a lot of 180 degree pin turns, so being able to put power down was key (hence Kolin's time). I'm just glad you aren't able to see any of my worse (or better) finish results

T minus 9 days!

LOL! No espionage on my part - I always keep an eye out for any PAX/Index results that Rick Ruth posts on sccaforums. When I saw your name in the top 10, I was like: "Hey, Jay finally figured the Z out!"

See you in Dixie!

If they would have moved the Cooper S out of GS, I'd be there. I'm pretty competetive with the other GS cars.

So, the way I see it, you have a 60% chance it won't rain at all...

True - I'm hoping the rain falls early Saturday morning but clears up before Heat Competition starts at 9am. Here's hoping BS runs towards the middle or end of the day. Heat & Work Assignment schedule will be posted this Wednesday.

*fingers crossed*
