Should be 2 more this year if all goes to plan. I will be co-driving with Miatamoto

But there's always some movement in and out of a class each season.

Elliot Speidel (Spelling??) sold his RX-8 and I'm not sure if his co-driver Rowse will be in BS this year. Braun may also not be back. I'll be going to Nats for this first time along with my co-driver Shawn - so two more new people in the class. There also seems to be quite a few people posting on here recently about acquiring RX-8's to prep for B-stock. Hopefully the class will crack the 50 mark at Nats this year.

I bought Elliot's car, so that should be a wash as far as numbers. Not sure about my co-driver this early... but my wife will be in BSL.

Gotcha. Didn't realize it was you who bought the car. I'm also not sure if Peebles and Foley are returning in BS - I think Iain mentioned to me he was autocrossing a different car this season and using his RX-8 for track days only.

I'm hoping to get back to Nationals again this year again. I'm hoping to bring a few more of those "pesky 350Zs" out as well.

Here's hoping for 50!

I personally would love to see many Z's out there. If I didn't need a backseat at this point in my life, I *might* have bought an '03 Track model instead of the RX-8. Here's hoping Nissan/Nismo steps up in '08 and offers a REAL contingency program for Nissan owners at National events.

There will be no Nissan USA motorsports program of any kind in 2008. They pulled everything, SCCA, off road, grand-am, all of it.

Ouch. That bites.

9 registered in BS for Dixie. Where's everyone staying? One of my Subie buddies, Steve Kornhaus, posted the following info on NASIOC.

Quality Inn North
(Exit 18 near Applebees)
Valdosta, GA, US, 31601
Phone: (229) 244-8510

$52.00 a night, totaling $116.48 for 2 double beds, non smoking.

Seems to be the best rate around as most hotels as going for $100+/night.

I booked the room for my co-driver and I. Like Steve mentioned, $52.00 a night but you will have to call the Choice Hotels booking number which is 1-800-424-6423 and give the SCCA dicount code. If anyone needs it, PM me. It can be found in our SCCA membership packet when we join/renew.

hmm really tempted to drive down to this event, i'm just not sure my tires will be that good when i get there...i'll be driving thru alot of below freezing tempuratures with the tires on the trailer. if i don't bring the lady friend and pull out the harness bar i can put all 4 R's in the car with minimal luggage, but there's a rim/tire riding shotgun so no passanger mirror. might be a bit annoying on the 25 hour drive...

what's the closest big airport for a fly and co-drive?

Oh yeah, sweet memories of the Feb/1996 Moultrie, GA Nat'l Tour event; snow flurries, rain, very cold & windy. People were walking the course in their helmets, pit gloves, etc. The local Walmart was sold out on thermal undies etc. when we got there. I don't think it ever got over 30 degF or so.

Same thing at the 2004 Atlanta Pro, I won BS in a BMW Z4 on the OE Bridgestone run-flat street tires, the course had rivers running through it most of the weekend

Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Orlando, Atlanta (in that order from close to far away). You might also want to check the price on a Delta Connection straight to Valdosta.

unfortunately you're under the 2 week window, Delta/ASE is gonna rape you

while there is an afternoon and late evening flight into Valdosta on Fri, the latest Sunday flight leaves at 4:55pm, which means you need to be there by around 4:00pm

What 2 week window?

yea looked at my schedule and doesn't look like i can make it anyways. flights are $815 round trip, and the gas to drive my car down would be about $600. i guess i'll be doing the Milwaukee, KC and then Topeka...i really wanna do Peru again like i did last year, but that's not because of the autocross, it's because of the party. it just happens that we needed something to do during the day so we raced.

LOL! I think the DC region can also have that many locally at times. At least for the Dixie NT, BS is one of the better attended classes - with STS leading the way with 14 registered last I looked.

155 registered as of 8:45am this morning. Largest classes appear to be HS w/ 12, SS w/ 13 and STS with 15. Looks like the Maxcy's will be making an appearance in the Viper.
