Co-drive for SD Tour?

It appears, due to a business trip that I can't reschedule, that I may not have the time to get my car down to SD for the Tour.

If anyone has an empty seat in their RX8, or something similar (basically anything not fwd), please let me know.

Thanks,
Mike

We're probably not going to make the SD Tour event, sorry.

That's a bummer, I know you've had a lot on the plate and finding time to get everything ready to go is tough!

I'm not sure if I can swing it, either...too much going on, thankfully, it's good stuff.

Well, it looks like I might be driving something with a little more power than the '8...like about twice as much...

Well, I'm between a rock and a hard place...I can't get my car down there and I can't find a RX8 to co-drive...so, it looks like either ASP or XP for me, which sounds like a bunch of fun, anyhow

You think the divisional down there later in the year has something to do with it?

No. The locals will be there, it is the out of town guys that are missing.... I seriously doubt the out of town guys are picking a Div over a Tour.

Very true. Well maybe Jason should stick his neck out and be the first to sign up for the class...

Well I just committed to being the Protest Chief so it looks like we'll attend afterall. If I don't get my RX-8 done in time I'll have to focus on swapping out the trans in Debbie's car and bring it instead.

I was going to be the Chairperson for the Hawthorne event this year if we were allowed to run a Solo2 there, which I'm fairly sure they won't allow due to the past issues. If it's a Trials event instead we'll probably pass this year.

The Div will have Kumho and Hoosier contingencies along with Mazda and Subie (from what I've heard) and a cash payout (for the series) if the class has enough entrants.

If I only wanted to go to SD once, I think I'd take the Divisional over the Tour.

I of course won't be at the tour because I have a commitment I can't miss...

So do you know for a fact that the payout will equal a tour payout? You have to enter two divisional events to get contingency VS one tour, so how is that better?

I don't have solid numbers, but I believe the cash payout for class is based on how much profit the series makes. So, that could range from 0 to who knows. If Chris *** shows up to the steering committee meeting on Tuesday, I'll ask him and see if he has realistic numbers.

As far as contingencies, I think that each event will have contingencies similar to that of the tours. You might be able to better answer that though since you are in with Mazda and Kumho.

I don't really know that the SD divisional is better than the tour, I was just speculating on what might be keeping people away.

In years past when Sandi did the run/work for tours she had a system she followed. Chief of Protest runs first, because then even if there is a protest in the first heat they have already run.

The only contingency info I have heard is a series contingency plan, nothing per event for the Div.

It could depend on how early in the process she roped you in.
