clutch/transmission question

for those of you who run a clutch disk with solid hub, have you had any issues like increased wear or damage to the transmissions? the context for me is budget road racing, s1 6 speed. i am needing to replace a clutch disk and was contemplating a solid hub as they are a little lighter than an oem style, but i dont want to be doing a lot of harm to a transmission that we already feel is not the best.

I ran a 3 puck clutch disk without springs aka unsprung hub in my Spec Miata. It was harsh. Unnecessarily so. SM guys report more frequent broken transmissions with the unsprung hub. I switched to an ACT sprung 4 puck disk. Much better for me. Didn't affect my lap times at all.

Definitely do not recommend an unsprung clutch disk.

solid hub only if you go with a smaller 5.5” or 7.25” diameter racing type clutch
