cant break into 14's!
although I dropped .3 seconds on my et and +10mph on my trap, I still can't get lower than a 15.1
1.1 RT
2.2 60'
6.4 330
9.8 @ 73 mph 1/8
12.7 1000'
15.1 @ 92 mph 1/4
I wasn't using the canzoomer, and I dont have any other mods. tires were at 31lbs and it was in the mid 80's. Other than the RT, where else can I improve my driving?

well your RT has nothing to do with your ET, looks like just faster cleaner shifts. You could improve your 60' but it doesn't seem like quicker 60' times = quicker ETs on the RX-8 like it does most cars. Some of the fastest times that have been run were done with a 60' similar to yours.

well, when you shift, rather than trying to get a smooth, clean shift, you could try just hammering it to the floor and powershifting through each shift. this isnt the best thing for the clutch or tranny, but it'll get you down the track faster

You should definately get there on a colder night. But, I know, it should not take a cold night to blast into 14s. I really don't know, other than you may need some tuning. I know I am in the "rich fuel" crew. Do you know if your MPG are crappy, or descent .

I just ran a 16.8 @ 83 mph with several bolt-ons...... although I am automatic and fully loaded The sad part is I almost beat an RSX Type S but I redlighted. What happened to the good old days when there were a few slow cars at the track I could beat up?

Type S's consistently run high 14s/low 15s stock.

understood, except he got a bad RT and I redlit by .008 so we finished even and if I did not redlight I may have edged him out based on RT. he ran 15 on the street he would smoke me

I have 2 FDs and an RX8 because I can afford it. I could easily drive an STI, but I can't stand the looks of it. It makes me want to puke and barely runs better than a manual RX8. I picked my name way BEFORE I bought my wife's auto RX8, and I was referring to the stick model, numerous 14s slip have been posted here. For the same price as the fully loaded STI, I prefer an 8 that looks, handles, rides and stops better than a Subaru and offers similar while inferior acceleration with a smaller engine and without turbo. (The manual RX8 is less than 1 sec slower than the STI in both 0-60 and 1/4 mile ET. And I haven't had ANY problems with my apex seal on either or my FDs, although both are boosting 15 psi with 3 inch exhaust. That reference to apex seals from the 70s is really played out, very lame.........
No offense taken I am accustomed to your style already I normally ignore your nonsense except your "joke" was directly referring to me this time. No problem and by the way a daily driver 300 hp FD is not a project of great magnitude if you start with a decent motor and maintain it well, just like any car.

Ummm stock STis have been known to break into the 12s stock (low 13s on average) and run sub 5 secs 0-60... Who the hell was talking about the STi anyhow, a little defensive are we? Lastly the RX-8 does not outhandle the STi, you're misinformed, and outbrakes it by a very small margin. Sorry but it seems moronic to me to have two of the same car unless one is a parts car. Oh and ask your RX-7 buddies how many of them are on their original engine and then tell me how lame my joke was.
One last thing, you want to compare the Renesis to an STi engine or any other piston engine you're looking at a 2.6L Renesis vs. 2.5L for the STi or 2.0 if it's non USDM. How bout some pics of the 2 FDs with the RX-8?

here we go, another 1.3 - 2.6 debate... No matter how you slice it, an STi will beat the crap outta a RX-8 every day of the week.
leave Ike alone, he's an WRX/STi fan on an RX-8 board.

I'm not going to continue the mudslinging because it's pretty clear you will never admit you're wrong about anything and will just use personal attacks to skirt the actual argument.
