Blytheville Tri State National Tour Oct 23-24
Final results: http://www.scca.com/documents/result...%20RESULTS.pdf
Congrats to Mark on the win in STX. Looks like Mike (TopGear) was 3rd in B-stock running against some very stiff competition (including the current national champ), while it looks like Carter ran into some cone troubles throughout the weekend.
Also, big congrats to my local buddy Martin who took the win in Street Mod in his STi!

meh, left a bunch of time out there, especially on Saturday when I made huge driving mistakes on every run. Even with a codriver the tires would only barely get any heat in them, which we addressed the next day. Mostly focusing on staying off the cones and using smarter run-aggression strategies which played out well on Sunday, so was happy in that regard.
still have local events every weekend up to turkey day, then it's more work and planning for 2011

Looks like you ought to be driving a BS S2000. I saw that Jadrice coned away the win, but it's still impressive in my mind that you ran within 1 second of the current national champ after 2 days of driving (in a car you're not familiar with). Great going Mike!

My biggest downfall for the weekend was my shifting. The course had 2 sections each day that required a 2-3 upshift. and a 3-2 downshift. My last run on Sunday I thought i clipped a cone in the first 3 cone slalom going about 60mph, as a habit I looked in the mirror and as I did that I hit fuel cut, before going into 3rd. After I got through the sweeper I was really pushing it into the 2nd slalom. I got a little tail happy, but still pointing the car straight. As I shifted to 3rd I got back on the power only to realize the car was in neutral, after struggling for a second to find 3rd I just threw it in 2nd...I would say it cost me about 1.5 seconds just on the way back. resulting in a 51.7, my best was a 51.1. I know this is just me bench racing here, but I feel without the shifting mishap, I would have been in the low 50.0 second range..

Not sure if you mean sides or RV.
I haven't looked back in years. I used to look in the RV in the FD and someone suggesting turning the mirror up which also opened up some 'looking forward' space so I do it out of habit now.
I know some people turn their SV's forward which I think just looks crappy, "I say, Bad Form there!"
No matter what, sounds like you did a hell of a job Mike. Congrats!

More congrats to Mark on the WIN plus doing a great job as event steward. Yes our RX7 suffered from self inflicted issues on Saturday....the suspension and other systems had been apart since Natls and we didn't get a chance for an alignment before the event.....made track adjustments Sat afternoon and got the car drivable and were pleased with Carter's raw times on Sunday. It was a terrific set of courses...lots of 3rd gear....but the straights were a bit long for our little motor.
