The Cline-mobile is in a strong lead at the end of day one.

Nice Job Michael!

What a fun day it was! The car was amazing although i'm still learning how to adjust these shocks, lots of tuning will come. Mark was having some trouble with the back end stepping out even in a straight line...He'll be swaping out rear springs tonight to see if it helps.

And the Cline mobile was flying out there today, even if the car wouldn't go into second gear.

Congrats on the solid 3rd place Mike! Nice to see Eric and Chris doing so well.

I'm sure they'll be a tough pair to beat this Fall in Lincoln, NE.

Great job For TopGear8 and he seemed to be having a ton of fun in the process

And to add insult to injury one of my recently new Kumho 8-ply trailer tires blew out shortly after leaving the site.

My car has no grip. Looks like I'll be changing tires and starting over again. Not sure between the choices of Dunlop, Hankook, or Toyo but it's hard to argue against the results.

And I need new tires for my truck too. My bank account hates TireRack ....

Mark,

Sorry to see Blytheville didn't pan out. Since you're back in Dallas now, you're welcome to co-drive my car at the next Texas Region event on June 20 if you want to give Dunlops a try.

Thanks for the very generous offer but I'm committed to my own destiny and will likely be there on a new setup for better or worse.

My right front shock is fubar ... the fun never ends

There was also some RX-8 action in C Stock. The class was won by Chris Fenter in a Miata, who just edged out Carter Thompsons RX-8 in 2nd place, and 3rd place went to Ken Baker also in an RX-8, with the final 4th place trophy going to a 370Z driver.

Congrats to Mike on a great finish!

And, sorry to hear about your problems, Mark.

Sienkiewicz was smoking fast. Nats will be interesting, for sure.

No worries Mark. The offer stands if you can't get your car sorted before the 20th.

FWIW, my "cheap garbage Japanese" Endura-Tech suspension is still going strong after 10k miles of street use, a half dozen track days, and several autocross events. :D

I don't think I'll ever buy Koni products again, since I've had leaks with Konis on three of the last fours cars I've owned.

I've been on Koni shocks since 1994 and had very few leaks over a wide range of vehicles

the problem on these is an internal leak; gas got past the separator piston and into the shock oil. If you have monotube shocks the problem might exist and you don't even know it

but for better or worse I won't deny you the opportunity to beat me good

Speaking of leaks, pulled and resealed the engine oil pan today. Hopefully it's fixed, would rather never having to do that again. What a PITA ....

Thought I would have to take you up on that offer after the Post Office lost my shocks for the last week, but they finaly made it to their destination today.

Ordered a set of shaved Hankook RS3 tires this week. Wish I had another set of 18 x 9 SSR Comp wheels ....

Also shifting gears on springs, decided to give up on the soft spring concept. So if I make it to Ennis with my car I'll be completely cold on a totally different setup.

I seriously considered a set of Toyo R1R 255/35-18 tires, but just didn't feel comfortable taking a chance on them.

Biggest piece of advice I can give you...get a co-driver. These tires like heat, but only up to a point...

Well Mark, as much as I was looking forward to running against you next weekend, I've decided I'm going to the Texas Time Trial event at Mineral Wells instead. All indications are that Ennis is about the size of Pennington with a worse surface, so if I've got to drive 2 hours to an event I'm going to the one where I'll get 50+ miles of track time at higher speeds.

I was looking forward to seeing how my budget build stacked up against your car, but it'll have to wait for another event.

You shouldn't waste your effort or money against me. My car and I totally suck for the time being.

Drove by the Ennis track last week on the way to a customer in Conroe and was wondering where they were going to have enough room for an autox.

Supposedly it is going to be in the lot north of the stands? Looks pretty small in Google maps.
