1935 lbs. FTW!
That being said I still much prefer to autocross our S2000 than the RX-8.

I don't know if I would consider the MT test as a relevant sampling of turn in capability...one test, with one input measured, at one speed? Meaningless data.
In my experience, the S2K turns in sharper, with more precision, than the RX8.

Sharper is objective and so is precision. I would say precision has more to do with feel and I would disagree on that. The S2000 steering feels a little numb/rubbery compared to the RX-8 or M3 etc but I love the faster ratio.

I recently took part in a press event with the Honda S2000, CR and base model, as well as the new Mugen Civic Si. There were a total of two other journalist there with racing experience, out of about a dozen, and neither were from MT.
The fluff you see in most mags is why the government requires an independent 3rd party, like AMCI, certifies all performance claims before a manufacturer can use the info in a print or TV advertisement. Look for the small print at the end of most car commercials and you will see "certified by AMCI bla bla bla" or some other company that is in that business. I am familiar with AMCI because they are in Socal and the guys that work there have more Natl Championships than any person should be allowed to have, they can drive.
The MT test is a fluff piece.

The only person(s) on this subject who I would even give a second thought would be those that have actually driven the cars at speed, not those who can quote some magazine or internet blather, particularly when the magazine "quantifies" the "rating" by a half assed "test"
Cosmo, I agree that the S2000 steering isn't as communicative as the RX8's, but don't think of that as "precision". I think the S2000 gives a higher level of confidence in hitting exact spots on turn in at speed, which is what I call "precision". Regardless, the RX8 has great steering...and brakes...and balance. Now, if we could just have some power and off corner front end bite...

Also, you're missing a key phrase in my first post: "properly set up S2000". S2000s come from the factory aligned to understeer, and with a vastly smaller front bar than it needs to perform on R-compound tires. The RX-8, on the other hand, comes much closer to fully set up from the dealership.
delhi, since you're such an expert, I assume you're here in Topeka with Jason, Mike, and myself to show us how it's done?
