anyone done anything with the motor mounts?

Folks, interested if anyone has done anything with the factory engine mounts?
I am currently working on this. I have ran a diy polyurethane mount setup and the benefits are there!! SHifting has a much more solid feel to it and the throttle response is MUCH better. Both on throttle and off throttle.
But alas the poly mounts are a little too much nv for acceptable street use (for me at least).
There has to be a happy medium. This is what i am working on.
I have learned a lot and I am almost there.
Has anyone else done anything?
If I can get them exactly right as changing mm just for track--although pretty easy to do--is a pita, I may consider marketing some. Do yall think that would be something some folks would want?

Too bad energy suspension doesn't make a kit for the RX8. When a kit is available I will buy it.

i am using a 60 shard now--cant get much softer without getting x rated
I am having some success in placing the bolt retainor in different spots within the mount itself. Have to make sure longetivity is not affected by this position change.
I may end up with aan adjustable mount. It can be street or track with very little effort. Hoping it is going to work out.
If anyone has tried anything (someone has to have tried SOMETHING!) please share.
OK MM --but i know you cant provide any details--right?

Denny,
Why don't you use a slightly softer shore and add a collar like the one revo tune sells just for track days? I can't think of any other way to make an "adjustable" mount.
I'm find with what you're using and noise\vibration aren't big concerns.

ingalls stiffy torque dampner

I saw this the other day. Might be part of the solution you are looking for as this is adjustable. Might allow you enough adjustment with some mild upgraded MM's.

STX allows the motor mounts to be changed, so I might be interested in trying a set. However the rules specifically state that the amount of metal in the mount may not be increased, and the mounting location cannot change. I suspect you are OK in the latter but not sure about the former.

I like that but $175.00 is a lot for something that simple.

Try using a stock one on the down side, with a poly on the upside where there is more load. Still helps to limit engine movement, but perhaps not as harsh.

thanks for that suggestion and that may work for a na car--however with my fi setup when i used just one mount i had separation in the upper 3nd portion. The mount as I had it at that time didnt take the extension movement well. i solved that but now with a little more nvh than i want for the street. it disappears after approx 3 K rpm
if that is not a concern for some--then for the track it is great. very solid and they last as far as i can tell. even on a 300hp to the wheels car.
Just tested a new set up tonight and i am encouraged. series 4 may work and if it does it will be adjustable for track use if needed.
Sure is nice to have the shifting feel like this.
stay tuned

Eureka! I think I have found a combo that will work---so far so good. But it takes time in determining if they will last without problems. One beta tester is on board (other than me)
This would be a good mod to do---no extra added metal, stock mount location, stock looking mount. Only internal modification. It will be adjustable for track (if you want even more solid feel) or street!
